Does anyone happen to know what the profiles are for the sim portion of the interview with CAL... Understand its in a 737 -300. Have an interview coming up and would like some info. thanks.
Its worth at least finding a way to get your hands on the takeoff profile. The approach profile is pretty easy. Practice random hold intercepts without using a pen and paper or approach plate.
Go to aviationinterviews.com It has been the same for awhile now and as of last week is the same.
I can second going to the sim prep. I knew I could handle the instrument flying but wanted to get the feel of the 737 and figure out what the callouts were before showing up.
Look up Alteon in DFW. They have been doing sim preps for CAL for several yrs and do a good job. They are who a lot of interview prep companies use so if you go straight to them you are skipping the middle man.
Sorry, but I have misplaced their number but it should be pretty easy to find. Here is their web site: http://www.alteontraining.com/
Crew Pilot Training at DFW is the one I used. I think Alteon and CPT all use the same sim. CPT taught CAL-specific callouts and sim profiles. Well worth the money.
Also, do look at the aviationinterviews.com gouges for the interview/sim. It's all accurate and up-to-date.
I went with Higher Power in DFW and the prep was spot on, money well spent:beer: The only difference was that HP does it in a -200 and the interview ride was in a -300. Only difference is the technology, and a -300 has N1 gauges as opposed to EPR in the -200. Definitely worth seeing it before going to the interview and feeling more comfortable, as the profile itself is not hard. PM me if you want more details.
