They cited a downturn in the US credit market causing a sharp decline in students getting loans. The funny thing is, I'm at a fixed wing school across the field from them and we're busy as ever.

Silver States going under could only be a bad thing.

Helicopter training is at it's zenith, presently. There's never been such a high demand for Civillian trained helicopter pilots, or as high a proprotion of civillian helo pilots in the work force, as today.

Silver States has been a lying, cheating, dishonest program from the get-go that's been the bane of the helicopter training industry. What they do is open an office in a new location, recruit as many students as possible, take all their money up front, and then they don't deliver. If they close the doors now, it's more a matter of having filled the nets, and Jerry in LAS is just reeling in the catch. Nothing more.

Which one, Hi-Tech or United? Yep, they're always busy... one less rotor wing school at Hooks is a good thing; with 2-3 fixed wing schools and the 2 helicopter schools, plus the usual corporate and military traffic, the pattern there is just a zoo. 10 lbs of crap in a 5 lb bag.

United.

Were they the company that had the commercials on Spike TV?

I seen this one coming.... when hearing their radio and seeing their TV ads.
