enigma- that was a cute attempt at trying to get away from the fact that "W" DID indeed loose the popular vote during the election. < FACT - Now please explain how I am trying to "spin" that issue sir. :D Did Bill Clinton run against "W" in this last election.? ( Thank you ) Facts are somewhat difficult to dispute but people like you give us humor when you have to divert a topic back to someone else who was not even in the election in the first place. History does not lie.

350, Here again is your original statement. "I find it somewhat bothersome that we currently have a president in office who could not even win the "majority" "popular" vote of the American people, obviously something is wrong with this picture...."

My point is not to get away from the "fact" that GWB lost the popular vote, but to show that it is perfectly legit to gain the presidency in the absence of winning a majority of the popular vote. Clinton did so twice.

As to your contention that GWB did not win a majority of the popular vote, GWB did not win a majority of the COUNTED votes. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THE POPULAR VOTE WAS, NEITHER DO I, NOR ANYONE ELSE. The simple truth is this: all of the votes were never counted. When one particular candidate wins enough votes to give that candidate that states electoral votes, some states stop tabulating their votes. The overseas (military) absentee ballots, and others are usually not counted; unless there is a reason to do so. Bush won more states than Gore and it is entirely possible that the uncounted ballots from those states would given Bush the popular majority. We just don't know.

We do know that Bush did win the electoral college and that he is the legitimate President of the USofA. If the electoral college system bothers you, I won't try and convince you of it's merits, but stop trying to imply that our President is illegit.

If it makes you feel any better, I voted against Bush in the primaries, and am quite disappointed him in most all issues other than Afganistan and Iraq. Bush has allowed the 9/11 terrorists to accomplish their mission. The Bush administrations politically correct, knee jerk reactions to that event have affected our country's freedoms and productivity more than the act itself. He has bowed to political correctness and restricted American citizens more than he has restricted terrorists. We have lost some of our rights just because he won't come out and say that it is obvious who our enemys are and we will concentrate on restricting those enemys. Instead, our government spends it's time strip searching flight crews and blue haired grandmothers with knitting needles instead of concentrating on young middle eastern males.
Bush is out democrating the democrats as he increases the size and power of the Federal government. He has taken issues from the Democrats by just taking over their plans. For example, we have a larger education bureaucracy than before. I still respect the mans basic values and decency, but he is going to leave us more in debt and less free that when he took office. On the other hand, the opposition offers nothing either. I'll probably go back to voting Libretarian.

8N

Centrifuge

If anyone (Libs) would take the time to READ (not watch CNN) about the equipement found, they would realize that it is a type of centrifuge disigned specifically for nuclear weapons grade material. It is not the kind found in any school or industry.

P.S. Let people like 350 and Cessna keep spouting out their tipical non information crap. Every time they do so, it just proves that they don't have a clue of the world around them. They are like normal Dems, every time they open their mouths, they dig their party a deeper hole to get out of. I say, keep up the good work!;)

Yeah, it's the kind you find in the US government stockpile so you can plant it in Iraq and say you found it so you can get the media off your back. You repubies will just believe anything and I mean anything that bush says cause you absouletly believe that "you're with us or against us" crap. Bush is ony using that statement to make anybody feel guilty about questioning his "policies". if you don't agree with him, he pubicly labels you as a traitor and you get your name dragged in the mud. That's the only reason he hasn't been impeached yet when he lied about WMD being in Iraq. Bedises the fact that repubies control the house and the senate, nobody has the balls to stand up and hold him accountable for his actions. When will you people learn to stop taking it up the a$$ from the gov't and start questioning them so they don't screw us?

The term that most proffesionals use to describe your problem is paranoid schizophrenia. Lets break this down.
Paranoia:a form of chronic insanity, often characterized by delusions of grandure.
Schizophrenia:psychiatric disorder of many and varied manifestations in which a person loses contact or misinterprets reality.

Does the Gov lie, you bet! Should we believe everything they say, absolutely not! But sometimes you have to use a little common sence. I was over there and saw SH's antics. Stating Bush should be impeached for outright lying shows your level of thinking and outright knowledge on the subject which evidently is not much.
P.S. You might want to have that problem of yours looked into.

Tim,

Maybe we should sent that diagnose to the boys at OKC?

Flame bait! Pure and simple.

Dems prior to Gulf War I - "Don't do it, American troops will be killed by the thousands."

Dems during GWI - "Ah, we support our troops."

Dems after GWI - "We certainly did support the war, but there's no coalition to take out Sadaam. And, anybody could have won this war, it was really no big deal."

Dems during Clinton - "Sadaam out of line, just bomb him no questions asked."

Dems prior to Bush 2s presidency - "Sadaam has WMD's and is a threat to the world."

Dems during Bush 2, prior to Gulf War II - "Ah we really should have finished the job back during Bush 1s presidency. We need to give inspectors more time. This is a diferrent, smarter Sadaam. American troops will be killed by the thousands!"

Dems during GWII - "We support the troops. Oh my God the troops are taking forever to get to Bahgdad. The military is in total disarray."

Dems after GWII - "OK, so maybe that didn't take as long as we though, but everybody knew we were vastly superior to Sadaams troops. But where are the WMD's, huh?"

Dems after GWII+60days - "See, told ya there weren't any WMD's. You were just lying so you could go start a war with a third rate dictator. Told ya we should have given the inspectors more time. The would have proven Sadaam was a man of his word."

Dems after WMDs are found - "I knew you'd plant some WMD's if you couldn't find any."

It's a NO WIN situation. When it comes to fighting wars yall are the finest Monday Morning Quarterbacks I've ever seen. And as for conspiracy theories, well, yall make the "state militias" of the early nineties look like a Washington think tank.

Don't you think that between the two of them George Bush and Tony Blair could have planted better WMDs than a camo trailer and a chemistry set. Come on man think! It doesn't look like your ole chemical mellon is firing in sequence!

Carry on.

Stating Bush should be impeached for outright lying shows your level of thinking and outright knowledge on the subject which evidently is not much.

You repubies were so damm quick to have Clinton impeached out of office for lying to a grand jury about having his *ick sucked in the oval office. What is the difference between Clintons lie and bush's lie? A lie is a lie right? Did he cause thousands of civillians to be killed when he had sex with Monica??? Did bush casue thousands to be killed becasue of a lie or WMD being in their country? What do you think is more important? Sex or the lives of thousands? Even you republicans should be smart enough to answer that one!

I was over there and saw SH's antics.

So now you're the expert on international relations with Iraq before the war right? And you say that I don't know anything about the subjects? Let's break it down:

1. Bush lied about WMD being in Iraq probably becasue daddy probably told him to finsh the job he couldn't.

2. Bush started a war just in time when people were starting to ask him what we are going to do about the economy. Just to get the media off his back.

3. After all this time, they magically find pieces of WMD in iraq after weeks of people critizing him of weapons not being there in the first place. And they just stumble across something in somebody's backyard and the scientist is just now coming forward after all this time??

So since you're the expert on Iraq since you were over there and saw SH's antics, enlighten us as to why it took so long to look in somebodys backyard? Why did bush start a war just in time to get people to stop asking him what he's going to do about the economy?

AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, STOP BLAMING CLINTON FOR IT!!!!!!! YOU PEOPLE WILL STILL BE BLAMING CLINTON WHEN YOU BURN YOUR TOAST FOR THE NEXT 50 YEARS, STOP THE MADNESS!!!

I'm sooooo tempted to launch a response to the Clinton Lovers' Society, but I'll keep it simple.

GET OVER IT!

ROTFLOLPIMP. I'll be glad to expand that for anyone who hasn't heard it before.

Fact: The impetus for 9/11 was born in 1990 when we occupied a portion of Saudi Arabia for the reasonably noble purpose of liberating Kuwait. We pissed off a rich fanatical, and 11 years later we got 9/11'd.

Fact: No amount of intelligence in the mean time would have prevented it. It's impossible to stop someone who is willing to kill themselves to simply prove a point. The Israelis have been trying for 30 years with zero success. In fact, it's escelating for them.

Fact: Our semi justified invasion of Iraq will most likely give birth to a whole new generation of Osama's. In 2010, when someone we never heard of flies a private jet loaded with a small nuke into the Super Bowl while the world watches on TV, we can look back on February 2003 and know why it happened. Don't fool yourself into thinking we can prevent suicide attacks in total. We can't.

Fact: Until we realize that our actions all over the world have consequences that rational people like ourselves can't completely understand, will will be making the job of ridding the world or terrorists a giant, losing game of whack-a-mole.

Opinion: So we found a centrifuge in Iraq, great, that's one potential nuclear threat gone, and 15 more nuclear threats created all just itching to punish us for it.

Well one thing is for sure. You have one Heck of an imagination! Keep it up as your posts are very comical.

"So since you're the expert on Iraq since you were over there and saw SH's antics, enlighten us as to why it took so long to look in somebodys backyard?"

Let me enlighten you since you asked for it. It took them so long because the nuclear scientist - note the operative word "nuclear", was afraid to death of being killed by the regime and feared for the safety of his family. He talked and gave up the parts after he was removed from Iraq.

Go read the documented account of the Iraqi scientist that merely told Hussein that his 1980s nuclear program was in violation of an international treaty. The poor guy was imprisoned for almost 20 years for just pointing this out to Hussein.

What on earth do you think that big concrete reactor was that Israel blew-up. The part wasn't hidden under a Rose bush to help the Roses grow. It was a extremely difficult to manufacture part that came from Europe and was hidden, along with extremely sensitive nuclear plans, so that the nuclear program could be restarted in the future.

As far as your other theories, I suggest you cut down on the Hollywood movies.

Kicksave, those people would have attacked the U.S. regardless. Poverty, lack of opportunity, and lack of education is the breeding ground for terrorism. You don't let terrorists dictate foreign policy decisions. You don't not do what is believed to be right by the majority on the chance some low life might blow himself up.

‘The Real Deal’ on Iraq’s nuclear plans
Bush naysayers once again proved wrong
REMEMBER THE U2 song with the hook “How long…how long must we sing this song?” Well, it’s an appropriate chorus for those of us still dealing with those on the left who hate the fact that America won the war.
They first predicted a quagmire; they were wrong.
They then blasted the President for not putting in the troops required to win the war; on that count, they were wrong.
When we breezed into Baghdad, Bush-haters then predicted prolonged riots and chaos, saying Baghdad was better off with Saddam, wrong again.
Then they moved on to Pottery-gate, with Peter Jennings and the New York Times blaming America first for the looting of 170,000 priceless artifacts. When that number ended up being closer to 30, no apologies, no retractions.
Then they moved on to Weapons of Mass Destruction, so blinded by their hatred of Bush that they forgot Saddam himself admitted having the weapons in 1998, and the UN confirmed that fact last fall.
And today, these poor, whining naysayers have been proven wrong once again.
NBC learned this afternoon that these documents give detailed instructions on how to hide materials and lie to UN weapons inspectors, and how to hide the deadly VX nerve gas. US troops also found materials to make the extremely deadly biological agent Ricin.
On top of that, an Iraqi scientist also led troops to nuclear weapons parts and documents that were to be used to restart Saddam Hussein’s nuclear program.
All in all, a great day if you believe stopping the proliferation of chemical, biological and chemical weapons is a good thing. But, it was a very bad day indeed if world security takes a back seat to your personal hatred of George W. Bush.

Funny Tim.:D :D I think you take the cake when it comes to "spouting" the "non information" stuff... Just read your replies, they hold absolutely no bearing whatsoever on factual evidence but it does show and prove you buy solely into propaganda and enjoy jumping on the moving bandwagon that is slowly coming to an abrupt halt. In 2004 it will have fortunately been overturned and we can finally get this country on the right track? Tim what has "W" done for our country with regards to unemployment, social security, a prescription drug plan, should I keep goin... Please do answer...... You have nothing to bring to this debate with regards to "proof" other than "buying" into propaganda and believing in something that just is not "factual".... Be a leader and not a follower. ( we have enough followers in DC) Bush has done absolutely nothing "productive" with regards to this country and the above mentioned items... Please take the blinders off, wake up and smell the coffee. (you may want to switch brands)

But hey you "repubies" should savor the remaining years of Bush's office (wasted space time) cause there will soon be a change. Someone who is not "productive" will not gain another four years....

enigma- nice reply - I do agree with some of the things that you mentioned and glad you will vote against Bush in 2004.

He also hasn't done anything about making sure everybody has a Mercedes, a flat screen TV, raising the minimum wage to $200/hr, or bringing an end to humidity in the south.

Waa, waaa, waaaa, waaa!

Yet another person ready to suckle off the giant teat of Federal government benevolence provided through a compulsory charitable donation called taxes.

Ya know there are other Super-powers that provide that stuff. Here's one...China.

Personal responsibility is dead in this country!

"LOL LOL & LOL- nice diversion to dodge the question......."

Not dodging the question, just don't think you'll find a mandate in The Constitution that provides for this.

You must be all about John Dean in 04!

Outstanding!

Weren't you guys supposed to pick up seats and regain a majority in congress last election?

AV8OR, hey man, what makes you think the libs would let a small thing like the Constitution stand in their way? The never have before. They think it's a "living, breathing document."
I kinda understand the liberal rage . . . it must really suck to be a lib right now.

Hey 350, you live in a representative republic, NOT a democracy. Keep toking that PT-6 exhaust...
