30 years ago general avation was more vibrant that is true. I am talking less than 10 years ago. Buy a Cheif and have your friends buy gas. I bought a Cheif 6 months ago for 13,000 did a little work on it and sale is pending for 18,350. A buddy of mine flew it to build time. I think he put 180 hrs on it. Now he has over 500 cc. It burns 3 gallons an hour (going slow) and it has a auto gas STC so at $3.40 a gallon it cost him $10.20 hr to fly. I am sure he brought a friend with so he probably did't pay for most of the gas.
