Flybige summed it up.

We fly Metro II's and III's, and as a result of our DOD contracts, two pilots are required and it was written into our op specs. So even in the 12,500 Metro II's, it's SIC time.

And I agree that the Metro time is looked favorably upon in the industry.

Good luck flying the tube,

scoot

So what if some operators require a 2 man crew for aircraft like Caravans? I know PenAir up in Alaska does, they flew them single pilot untill they crashed one a couple of yrs ago.

That sure would be pretty hard to explain SIC caravan time in an interview!

Make sure you know that a/c inside and out. Sys, normal/abnormal procedures, speeds, limitations and any quirky personality traits. It will show that you have been flying and working hard. I went through the same thing. I had some right seat time in 2 aircraft that required an SIC. I logged the time only after meeting the part 61 requirements, and obtained manuals for each. It helped at interview time because it was obvious I really flew what I claimed. The fact that you're concerned about logging fluff already shows you're on it!

Fortunately I'm flying a twin, so I haven't logged any fluff and its 121.

Sorry dude, I think it is funny as hell that you think you are such big stuff that you put 121FO on your profile and think that you are hot stuff cuz you are a Twotter FO, probobly in lousy BET! What makes you think that your time is any more valuable than Caravan FO time? Please man know your place, and congrats on your job with ERA, just lose the big head!
