The info is posted on the Major's side and says that Shuttle America will be flying for United along with Republic and some other carrier.

How will that effect your relationship with Airways, or is SA gitt'n while the gitt'n's good? Also, will United be getting you guys some RJ's or sending you out west to fly?

Just curious, sounds like things are looking up for SA.

All we know now is that we will begin flying for United in June. We will continue flying some aircraft for US as well. No word on any jets for us yet. As of now, just Saab flying.

You are right though. The fact that changes are happening is a very good thing in my eyes. Hopefully it'll open some more doors for us.

Kind of old news, this was announced along with the news about CHQ going to fly for UAL w/ the e-170/145 order. I cant remember the exact number but the press release included SA to fly 13 or 16 (#?) Saabs for UAL. Wheather this means they take aircraft from U or get more nobody knows or it hasn't been released. I hope they transfer aircraft from U flying to UAL as this may allow PDT and ALG to keep more aircraft. In the end I hope it works out for all. Good Luck, and SA guys keep us in the loop.

The correct number is more like 10 aircraft for United, and scaling back the USAir flying.

The 16 aircraft number you mention is the number of airplanes that Republic is going to fly for them... And you will get your wish, it would appear. SA will be totally out of the USAir system in a few months, if I understand it correctly. Certainly by the end of the year... But don't quote me on that.

I believe that you are already planned to replace some of the flying we've been doing for the last two years, as ALG is supposed to take over the HGR station. I'm sure some of the other stations we are leaving are going to be picked up by a WO or another contract carrier (and some of our routes will obviously be served by RJ's, as they should've been all along).

And you will get your wish, it would appear

Not so fast, remember nothing good EVER happens at ALG. Plus there is always colgan, if I'm not mistaken they are getting 10 more Saabs this year, coincidence, I think not.

I, for one, simply couldn't believe it when we started serving Harrisburg... So I won't argue with you at all about "nothing good" ever happening at ALG. I thought for sure that SOME places were sacred, but the bigwigs in scheduling over at USAir apparently don't agree with me on that one.
