I hear lots of rumors of this, but have never heard it myself.

Maybe they know better than to say it around 99% of our pilots because they would be instantly bitch slapped.

My understanding is that the Republic "Mainline" joke came from some moron FA's, not pilots.

Well, as far as the mainline thing goes chautauqua pilots refer to us as chautauqua mainline. that is it as far as "mainline" talk goes that I am aware of. Now, about the bitchslap thing......I dont think you have the balls to do it. In fact, I am based in Indy and start a trip tomorrow. I am mainline. So now come bitchslap me. Didnt think so punk. The FAA made us lose the Shuttlecraft callsign because it was too similar to Mesa's Air Shuttle. I don't know how they came up with Mercury other than it's something space related (Shuttle America--shuttle--space, yeah I know it's a stretch). Still better than Crossroads.

That's a joke that was bantered about when the 170 was on the CHQ certificate...the 170 was good naturedly called "Chautauqua Mainline." I doubt he was serious...
