The sad fact is many of those aircraft will never leave the bone yards unless they are a beer or soda can.
 
Were any of these rjs Compass (or any other you guys might have a so-called "flowback" agreement with)? Is there anything in your contracts that prevents management from reducing Compass planes before other contractors? (ie: stopping them from getting rid of/reducing Compass and keeping or increasing another rj carrier)


It's CRJ-200s that are being parked. I think the E-135s and 45s too.

There would be no use for FlightInfo if we didn't all want to know what is going on other places. Can just get info about your own airline on the union sites. Oh I get it...don't do as i DO.... :smash:
 
No. 9918 made 47 flights in the first 10 days of July, 2008, to destinations from Grand Forks, N.D., to New York's LaGuardia. On July 10 at 7:21 a.m. it took off from Traverse City, Mich., and flew its last paying passengers to Minneapolis, according to FlightAware. By the end of that day it was parked at Marana.

The article sites an aircraft that was parked last year. Last I heard DC-9s were coming back from the desert. Can't confirm that though.
 
Alot of those positions are created by the increased utilization rate of the 9's that are left in service. Don't know the numbers for sure, but it was going from around 4 hours a day to over 7 hours a day for the 9s that are left on property.


To be more accurate, the DC9 daily utilization went from about 9 hours/day to higher numbers, somewhere around 10-11/hrs/day

That doesn't sound quite as good....Something isn't adding up with all the displacements and the seemingly unfounded rumor of desert returns for you guys...

Didn't Ford & Harrison use this tactic early on in the merger by displacing a s**tload of people to ANC to a plane they didn't even plan to have there? Then suddenly wheels went in motion and they were "saved"? Campbell is working hard as the puppetmaster to see how much he can scare you (without making it look as if he is) and what he can get from you... Blood...stone...?

In all fairness, we should mention the number of rjs being cut by the airlines, particularly everyone's favorite whipping post.

60 dc-9s parked, 200 rjs parked.
