should I stay or should I go

All good input that I certainly appreciate. These times are very trying and making a decision to do something different from what you grew up loving is very difficult. I am approaching this cautiously and by no means plan to "exit" aviation. I sometimes feel as though being like a shooting star that flames out when things aren't quite right. I will probably keep doing some free - lance instruction and perhaps try to coordinate activity perhaps with one of the local community colleges.

I wonder how going from Learjets to instructing will look for future employers though? I'm looking at this as an opportunity to improve myself by furthuring my education and hope it will be viewed that way by potential employers.

You gotta do whatcha gotta do. Aviation is a job and it sometimes grabs hold of more then it should. There is no wrong in continuing your education.

Why not??

Review of your profile shows you have excellent quals, especially your military time. Military experience is always a plus and will always keep you near the top of anyone's list. As long as you can keep flying in some capacity, you should be able to get back in full-time someplace. No one will fault you if you state on an app that your reason for leaving full-time flying was to return to school.
