I am a commecial pilot, I deserve to get my bills paid every month. I am not looking to get rich here.

You are not "owed" anything just because you invested the time and money into getting your certificates and ratings...

It is like going to the store and buying lemons, water and sugar... and getting it home and expecting it to be lemonade... Well it isn't lemonade until you apply some "work & effort"... Yes you worked to earn the money to buy the ingredients, but yet more is still required...

What I am saying is, you have the ingredients... now YOU still have to do more to make it lemonade...

Oh, and I hate to break it to you... you know that $1.00 cup of coffee you can buy? Well, even after you have your ATP, it still costs $1.00... and even after you have 7,300+ hours, 5 Turbo-Jet Type ratings and 4,000+ hours of Jet time, it still costs $1.00.... and I still need to turn the fan on in the bathroom, if you know what I mean...

No one "owes" you anything, you get what you deserve... If you want more than you are getting, make yourself worth more... It is as simple as that...

Whatever! I dont agree with you. Any job you should have some stability, especially if the company can afford it. Whats wrong with a small salary?? They are just raping young pilots. No one is asking you to whore yourself out (actually quite the opposite) but you seem to think because you are a mighty "Commercial Pilot" that you deserve great things...

Maybe you should try to negotiate a better deal, or do more at work then complain... maybe they are hoping you'll go away...

Like someone else said... You are filling a position that isn't even required, a King Air is a single pilot machine... The company is basically doing you a favor to pay you to ride along...

Oh, and if you're looking for "stability"... You are soooo in the WRONG profession....

It's the law of supply and demand. There are a number of us out there that love to fly and will put up with the uncertainties and other indignites of being a pilot just to get the chance to fly. I'm just starting my second career and believe me....it's not all about just making money. You need to enjoy what you're doing. If you don't think that aviation is satisfying for you then you really need to use that degree of yours and get a real job.......Maybe then after working for a few years you might realize what flying is all about.

I agree with everyone else on this board: if you're already dissatisfied after so little time in the right seat, maybe you're not cut out to be a pilot.

Most of us are in this industry because we simply love to fly, no matter what. In today's economy, with so many people out on the street, lots of guys would give their left nut to be where you are. (Sorry girls, I don't know what you would be willing to sacrifice)

Looking at your TT, be happy you climbed into a KA with less than 1000 hrs. Also, plan on scraping the bottom of the aviation barrel for a while longer, since with your time and experience you're not going anywhere fast.

Jerks like you guys are the reason we suffer. Do engineers get out of college and "pay dues". NO! What about someone with a business degree? NO! What about a trashman that gets hired by the city? NO! They all can make a normal living, have health benifits, make enough to pay their bills, and so forth. You guys just dont get the point. I would give anything for people like you to get the hell out of this industry. YOU people are the reason pilots get abused. There is more to life than just flying.. What fun is it to fly an airplane, but you cant take your girlfriend on a date because you are too poor. Or have to live at your parents house at 30 years old because you make 18,000$ a year.. Why cant a pilot get his or her certificates, build some time for a year or so, then get a job making 40,000$ ??? Come on, these airplanes are worth millions and millions of dollars. The companies are very large. Trust me they can afford to pay us better.

Maybe he will learn one day that the world does not revolve around him. Maybe he should get a second job to take his GF out and move out of mommy and daddys(now that is sad). It sure is funny though the rest of us did it just fine and are better for it. I have been on my own since 19 and never had any trouble with the ladies or paying bills. Sure at times it was a struggle, but I sure do appreciate what I have now. Yes doctors, lawyers, pilots etc do graduate from college making little money. It is called getting out of it what you put into it. You dont put anything into it yet you expect everyone to hand you the world. Do us all a favor GET OUT OF AVIATION. I would not be able to fly a rotation with the likes of you. Most likely the company you fly for now has seen this already. They have a cheap gear opperator. Several of us have stated we would never fly for food, yet your ignorant comments are degrading those of us experienced. We are not to blame for what they do to you. Is it not the job you took or does someone twist your arm to stay? Teach them a lesson and leave. That will show them for sure. It goes to show your ignorance, lack of desire for this profession and your need to get out of it. Every job has its ups and downs. We suffer because pilots as a group tend to love what they do. I doubt that many people would choose to be engineers or businessmen or whatever else if they had to put in the time "paying dues" that we do.

It's a business world out there. Companies don't pay beginning pilots the big bucks to fly multi-million dollar planes because they don't have to. It's as simple as that. As long as there are pilots looking for jobs, employers will pay us what they want to pay us.

Maybe that's not right, and perhaps we're not getting paid an amount that's in line with our training and what we do, but right now that's the way it is. And while trying to improve conditions for ourselves is certainly a worthy cause, you initially came over here asking if you should quit your job because you're bored flying an airplane that typically is well beyond what someone with your low time can get into. So excuse the f*ck out of me for not being sympathetic to your situation.

You're entitled to be bored. You're entitled to be pissed that you can't live on the wage you're getting. But don't start busting our balls because you didn't get the answer from us that you were expecting.

Man, I just have to echo everyone elses responses here. This just isn't the time to be complaining about right seat in anything turbine. You just have to ask yourself, "What is the most I can get out of this job?" High alt. endorsement is a must, they don't grow on trees. If your capt. is a CFI and there's an empty leg, ask if you can do an emer. descent and have him sign you off for high alt. if he's comfortable with it (he may want to do ground as well on high alt. meterology and physiology etc. if he's worth his weight). However you're logging this time, I hope you know the airplane inside and out, because your next interviewer will (should) disect your knowledge on systems, etc. to see if you knew the a/c or were "just sitting there". Just remember, no matter how bad you think you have it, it can always get worse. Good luck!

Got news for you bud, money ain't gonna make you happy. Best advise I can give you is go out and get a job where you don't have to interact with others, and make a lot of money, then you can go out and buy yourself a King Air and laugh at all us "stupid, selfish" pilots!
