I was just wondering if there is any NWA mainline that could bring some light about Compass. I want to apply there, but have no idea about minimums, pay, rigs, etc... Just need to find out before I pay U$150 to go to Air Inc in DFW and find out is nothing like I expected.
Thanks for the help.

I'll start, You should get your application in ASAP, as the word around ops is there is an huge line of guys wanting to go fly the E-170 for 62 bucks an hour, with no work rules or rigs.

Have fun bubba

Brazilgun, pay no attention to these cynics!

You NEED to go to Compass!

The NWA master plan to outsource mainline flying to minimum wage whores at Compass depends upon a steady stream of giddy, zit-popping CFI's such as yourself.

Rest assured, once the profits start rolling in from this ultra low overhead operation, they will go right where they belong - the executive suite.

So please, send in your application ASAP. Sure there is a nominal application fee, but the execs need the extra cash for gas money in their limos and private jets. I'm sure you understand.

Thanks for doing your part!

Well thanks for the help.
NWA pilots were offered the job, but many don't want to leave Fedex, UPS, Continental, SWA, etc.... to come fly E-170's. I am not bypassing anybody.
U$ 63??? NWA contract says Capt pay at Compass tops at U$112 and FO starts at U$30 and tops at U$ 72. Shuttle America (another operator of the E-170) doesn't even come close. As far as I know they have the best 70 seater pay out there.
As far as I know all of you had 1800 hrs at one point, but it's hard to remember because when you have over 6,000 hrs you are such a better person/pilot that I can even imagine how you survived. WOW!!!

Which is it, you don't know what the pay is, or you have a copy of the contract in front of you?

Well it all depends. Are you a shameless butt kisser that likes to get sexually assualted while racing to the bottom of the industry. Then sure, go for it.

Minimums are going to be the same as everyone else but to be competative you will need 5,000 + with a big chunk of PIC in something that burns jet A. The pay is going to be slightly more than XJ if not the same (go figure). The rest I am sure will suck.

I flew under the red tail for over nine years. It really is not worth it. You will regret it. Almost any place is going to be better.

Classic!

Bye Bye--General Lee

If a furloughed mainline pilot goes to Compass to fly Capt, it's at 2nd year pay. Nice little bonus from the 68% at NWA. Sad, 5 years ago, NWA used to fly the DC-9-10 with 78 seats for 160 + per hour, and no, thats not why we went Chapter 11.

Over in the cargo forum aren't you professing your disdain toward passengers? So which is it? You love or hate them?

Or, as many have discovered,....IS IT ALL FREIGHT REGARDLESS ? !!

If I could have my way it would be cargo. I post this questions here because a friend of mine told me about Compass. I don't want to fly for Airnet and make U$1,000 a month, so I need to keep my options open until I have enough time, then I will be a little more selective....
If you have a wife and 2 kids you can't always do what you please. You gotta feed them first. But I am sure you won't understand....I'm sorry I posted 2 different questions and made you confused.:crying:

UH, Yeah....that is the same aurgument a scab makes. See, you are already ahead of the game. Why don't you just wait until Northwest outsources their pilots to Brazil before you start scabbing over here.

Just a thought, but instead of looking at TOP pay which you won't reach for YEARS (and by the way, you implied you didn't plan on staying but long enough to get your time and get out), why don't you talk about the REAL pay rates you'd be working under for 2 or 3 years?

How does that compare to Airnet again? Their Lear F/O and CA pay?

Be a man and go fly a real airplane in real weather conditions every night for a year or two. You'll be 10 times more proficient in your flying ability, not to mention more respected among your fellow pilots.

Yes, I had 1800 hours once. I remember it well, I had just upgraded to PIC on a King Air flying single pilot 135 relief freight in the UPS system out of SDF, then about 300 hours later I was in the right seat of a Lear for 1000 hours then the left seat.

THAT'S how you work your way up the ladder by not taking slave wages at a sh*thole like Compass.

But all of this will probably be lost on you... Good luck, buddy.

I don't want to fly for Airnet and make U$1,000 a month,

Just a tip, we all assume a dollar sign on this forum means US Dollars. The "U" is unnecessary, and I think it might make the responses to some of your posts just that much more hostile. Welcome to America.
