What's your airline's policy, what's your personal policy? In the story above a disabled individual, travelling with his family no less, was left behind on a smoking 737 after a brief effort was made to lift him. All the pax and crew evacuated, and he chilled out on a dark, smoke-filled airplane, contemplating his fate for 30 minutes before ARFF resuced him.

In our flight-attendantless airplane we often humourously brief that "there are 14 souls onboard, 2 hot chicks worth saving, and 1 straightback that will have to take one for the team". It's never been a declaration of policy, more of a passing acknowledgement of some grim realities. What's your take?
