I agree! If this was actually the case, taking the medications was his problem, not anyone elses.
Jesus loves you, but the rest of us think you are an asshole.

The coverage and 'second guessing' on the news this morning is making me sick. People need to take responsiblity for their actions and OBEY law enforcement orders and DON'T say you have a "BOMB" on or around airplanes.

The Air Marshalls were correct in their actions 100%.

DEAL WITH IT.
Cops are the cannon fodder of society, thankfully this Christmas we won't have to sit there with a bottle of booze playing russian roulette with a USP or SIG, because we got somebody else to do our dirty work for us.

Merry Christmas federal govt workers! You might have not been able to stop the WTC attacks, the bombing of the WTC, or the Bombing of the Federal Building in OK city...but at least you were able to shoot that pregnant lady dead on Ruby Ridge and this retard on the AA flight yesterday. I'm feeling safer already...

Let me see if I am getting your point, anybody that allegedly says bomb in a plane deserves to be shot....
Have you seen Meet the Parents?
I don`t know what happened, I would be just careful in passing judgments on weather a person deserves to be shot for saying Bomb in an Airport.

Wow, there's a couple of real winners on this thread. This whole incident is sad, tragic. I'm not second guessing the FAM's actions in the least little bit. From what I understand he didn't have much choice, the guy was claiming to have a bomb and reaching into his bag, so that's how it played out. No complaints at all from me ...but it is tragic, not somethin to cheer about. It's tragic that a unarmed, mentally disturbed guy got shot, it's tragic for his wife who watched, It's tragic for the FAM that pulled the trigger, and will probably be wondering for the rest of his life if he should have done something differently.

You who are whooping and cheering about "one less scumbag" as if this was somehow a great victory are just pathetic losers.

FN FAL, you off your meds old buddy?
Oh that's right, Randy Weaver's wife wasn't pregnant. Thanks for the reminder.

And had the FAM's not taken him down, and he really did have a bomb, and ran into the concourse and set it off, then all the monday morning quarterbacks would be blaming the FAM's for letting it happen. As far as his wife running behind him screaming "he's sick", wouldn't that be about the perfect cover for someone trying to cause harm? I'm sorry that the guy goy killed, but he stated that he had a bomb, he didn't listen to or obey directions from law enforcement, and then he reached into the bag where the alleged bomb would have been. I think that the FAMS made the correct call, but unfortunatly they will have to live with that decision for the rest of their lives.

And FN FAL, this is a little different from Ruby Ridge or Waco. They weren't hurting anyone. This guy stated that he was armed with a bomb, and he obviously had the opportunity to kill a lot of people with it.

No hoss, the FAMS said he had made claims to possessing a bomb.

Bombers don't run away from a juicy target like an airliner with fuel and hudreds of people on board to blow up the underpaid chick at the counter and the 50 people waiting to get on. Hell, a guy with a deer rifle in the parking garage could do more damage than that.

Do a google search on bombers in the news section...there's been quite a few bombings in recent news and all of them were going towards the red meat, not away from it.

I guess they were too busy playing fantasy football with the fake bomber to worry about this guy...

Questions Surround Alleged JFK Shoe Bomb Incident

Why Was A Man Able To Fly After Bomb Residue Was Found In His Shoes?
Eyewitness News' Lauren DeFranco

(New York - WABC, December 8, 2005) - There are serious security questions tonight at JFK. This after an Egyptian man was stopped last Friday because preliminary tests showed his shoes contained an explosive material.

The man was eventually allowed to fly to his college in Des Moines, Iowa.
But FBI tests showed no explosive material.

So why as he allowed to board a plane? And why was the test faulty?

Law enforcement sources are calling it a major breakdown in protocall. An Egyptian man whose sneakers tested positive for explosives, was detained by TSA security, but allowed to board another flight while his shoes were sent to a lab for further examine.

According to an internal document obtained by Eyewitness News, TSA maintained custody of the shoes and released the passenger as per the direction of the TSA operations manager.

The man, who claimed to be a student at the University of Iowa, was re-booked on another flight.

Sources say both the Port Authority Police and the FBI weren't notified until after he was left go.

Lauren DeFranco: "Do you think this guy should have been let on this plane?"
Harvey Kushner, Security Expert:"Absolutely not. He tested positive. Unless you're completely sure that isn't something because of a medication or something else. You have to air on the side of caution when you have 300 people in the cabin."

Over the weekend, sources say the Egyptian national was passing through a security checkpoint at JFK. Sources say one shoe was held together with a nylon cord and a fragile sticker holding the sole and upper together.
The shoes were swabbed, testing positive five times for TATP -- a commonly used explosive.

The FBI says the incident created an atmosphere of tension, which prompted an alert of a potential shoe bomber on the loose.

FBI officials believe the man poses no threat because his story checked out.
But security experts insist this underscores the need for better training within the TSA.

While the government says the passenger is a student at the University of Iowa, a spokesman for the university told Eyewitness News they have no record of him being enrolled there.

Yeah, you're right. The FAM's should have just sat there and done nothing when the guy made claims to having a bomb. And when he got up from his seat in the back of the plane and started running toward the front they should have just looked at each other and said "what a kook". Just let some guy stating that he had a bomb run through the plane or airport, not knowing when or if he plans to set it off.

Like I said, had he actually had a bomb, and used it, whether on the aircraft or in the terminal, you would be hammering the FAMs for not stopping him when they had the chance. It's too bad he got killed, but from the information provided so far the FAMs acted within their training and SOP's. If you don't like the program then write your congressman. I personally am glad they are there to clean up any messes the TSA might let by.
