Embry Riddle has a shortcut program at http://www.erau.edu/omni/sp/dbcapt/faq.html

For $36,500.00 you can get an interview from:
AirTran
Atlantic Coast Airline
Continental Express
ASA
US Airways
Southwest
NetJets

So do you suppose that Airtran waves the hiring minimums listed as:

Minimum Qualifications:
Fixed wing flight time - 2500 hours
Multi-engine, fixed wing flight time - 1000 hours
121 PIC or military equivalent - 500 hours
An ATP certificate, or successful completion of the ATP written exam
Current First Class Medical certificate
Valid passport
Legally eligible for employment in the United States
Free of felony convictions within the most recent 10 years

at http://www.airtran.com/aboutus/employ/pilot.jsp

if you go through this program?

I asked on the message board so we will see. A job with Airtran or Southwest would be nice. Maybe not worth 36K dollars though. Yikes!

Read that paragraph again. It says nothing about interviews from those companies. It says "The following airlines have participated in the development of the program.."

They say they have, "several guaranteed interview agreements," but, they do not say which ones they are.

I'd pony up the cash..."The meek shall inherit the dearth!".

0 to "Interview Chance" is 65 grand???!?!?!

are they out of their freakin minds?

35 G's for "experienced pilots"???

I wonder how much crack 65 grand buys

Give me $10,000 and I will make sure the chief pilots at Airtran and Southwest both interview you.

ERAU was my first instructing job. Falcon Capt. and I know each other from Riddle. I believe this program, or some version of it, has been around since last year. It sickens me to see Riddle go into the P-F-T business . . . . but, there again, what do I know about P-F-T?

Hey bart.....I love your avatar.

My F/O summed it up best yesterday: "thirty-six thousand dollars? And maybe get an interview? F__k that!
