A little birdie told me that ship 703 was transferred to the other side. Unfortunately this required cancellation of several scheduled flights because ASA did not have any spare aircraft to accomplish the flights scheduled for 703.

I guess union busting is more important to SGU than operating flights and getting passengers where they need to be. Bravo, guys.

SkyWest pilots, enjoy another slightly used aircraft and the 10 pilot positions that come with it!

Your little birdie is correct. If you look at the Morning Reports, Ship 703 was transferred to Skywest. It is totally legal under our current contract. We need a stronger scope section.

Goodbye Christine.

Very tempting to make announcements in the terminal telling passengers why their flights were cancelled. What happened to integrity? I thought Jerry Atkin was all about honesty.

SkyWest only made $114.6 million so far this year, a 55.7% increase. Nothing justifies SkyWest's war on the ASA pilots. This is just vindictiveness and greed. Are these traits considered virtues in the Mormon world?

Do they think this will break us? Personally it just pisses me off and makes me want to fight harder for a better contract. Enjoy the growth dickwads!

Nothing stops you from telling the folks once they are on your airplane why your flight was late or for the folks from the previous flight that got cancelled.

As far as I am concerned we need to make any contract contingent on the return of ASA's assets.

I agree. What pisses me off the most, is that the people that were inconvienienced (sp) about this screw up are not going to know any better, but to blame the problem on Delta. This kinda crap needs to stop! We have enough problems to worry about with our service being as lousy as it is without some half assed feeder screwing things up because they got a hard on with one of their wholly owned!

BTW, I thought you retired!?
I'm telling you man, its like a drug!

737Pylt:

You could not be more correct.

Um, I could have swore Uncle Ron said something about transferring these planes way back in August. Now everyone's surprised? The way I see it, there's 8 more to go.

That's just pathetic. Why don't you edit your post? You sound like a spoiled child.

Hey Bluto, give em a break. There is a lot of bitterness and woe in Atlanta and some just need to vent. But to those at ASA throwing invectives, how about having a little pride in yourself and not stooping to name calling just because those lucky enough to end up at SkyWest have won the airline lottery. Save it for {insert management nimrod here}. Skywest pilots are just airplane flying shmucks like us, doing what they think is best, just like we did/do/will. They just happen to be at the top of the heap this week.

By most accounts Jerry has treated SKW pretty well over the years. While it looks like there is some support for the union drive, most seem pretty happy with life at SKW. I understand that many feel there is a good relationship between management and the pilots and that the status quo is to be preserved. But as many others have stated, what will you do when the music stops? Ive seen a few pronouncing the superiority of their W2s, regardless of hourly rate, but doesnt that make you more expensive? Unless "you" are just working more hours than "us", then pilot cost per hour would have to be higher (unless its just a longevity thing, and a couple of years after a growth spurt is when that would really start to kick in). And what will you do when management asks you for X,Y and Z to be competitive? You dont think that your product is so superior that Mesa, Repubutllelanticaqua, or whoever wont eventually make a run at your feed, do you? U and D are not really known for turning down the lowest bidder.

I know, Jerry loves his kids. He will take care of you all. But Jerry adopted a red-headed kid too, one that had been abused and is very troubled. How does his treatment of the step-child reflect on his parenting? Maybe its just 'cus we're not his "real" children, blood is thicker than water and all that. But if I was at SkyWest, watching Inc's relations with their newly acquired pilot group, I'd be wondering about my own future. I know, I know- quick upgrade and some PIC and Im off to greener pastures, so who cares? Maybe you'll be just that lucky, or not......

Hope for the best, plan for the worst.

Good post, a lot of SKYW guys started out with sympathy for the ASA pilots situation but's a lot of that goodwill has been eroded by the shameless and quite erroneous postings on FI. Talk of SCAB lists etc and making derogatory comments about the LDS is immature and extremely conterproductive.

You take your chances and live with the results when you join a company, those at SKYW could have as easily applied at XJET, Mesa, ASA etc but made a decision based on past performance and sound economics, we all hope for a fair resolution for ASA, lets hope it happens soon.

Bu!!sh!t...you made your decision based on who offered you the job first and which was more convenient.....just like the rest of us. But I do agree, you take your chances and its a crap shoot.

Bottom line, this is Delta's fault. They know exactly what is going on over here, and they choose to do nothing becasue we are cheap. If I were a passenger, I'd blame Delta too. And then proceed to change carriers.

good point, i think asa pilots need to work things out on the east coast and not point the finger at skywest pilots. if that is the bitter attitude that asa pilots will have towards skywest pilots when they are union brothers, why would the skywest pilots vote in bitterness and resentment? sounds like one cousin that's not getting a christmas card.

Someday, probably not tomorrow, but someday, they WILL be coming after you. I hope you are ready, and you may or may not have more class than the ASA pilots on here who have called you names. Then again, if you were currently in our position maybe you would understand the frustration.

Quick note to ASA pilots:
1. SKYW doesn't care about passengers. SKYW doesn't sell tickets.
2. All the union types that said it would be impossible to replace 1700 pilots... whoops as it turns out we are easily replaced... takes a little time but is very easy.
3. Just to prepare you. SKYW will take all the 70's and open an ATL base. You can now not looked shocked when it happens.
4. To the idiots in the strike center: What are you guys doing. You really think we are going on strike?
5. To the crowd that thinks you have a chance. Understand that somehow pilots are leaving ASA by the hundreds yet we are running new hire classes in the tens... The balance will be made up by a quicker transfer schedule.

We are finished

Way! Never applied to another airline. Looked around the west and who flew here. Let's see, generally happy campers, decent upgrade and pay, never furloughed. Guess I'm just an idiot, whore, scab, and if I can ever put down this beer, I'll become some sort of religious oddity with a propensity to drink kool-aid. Then, I'll be allowed into the super secret sect where all control of airline practice and business economics take place and continue to make the personal lives of pilots at union shop regional airlines hell. Did I leave anything out? All taken from the Divine Purple Icon Book of Question Mark!

Spoiled? By who? George and John? Delta in bankruptcy? Jerry Atkin?

I've been called many things, but spoiled?

My apologies to the LDS believers that may have been offended, but if you wear your religion on your shirt sleeve then act in a hypocritical manner you have to be ready for people to notice your apostacies.

Keep it up SKW. We won't give up. I am ready to go get another job.

We have had so much time to prepare for this that I will just move on if they sink this ship. Oh well.

Fins,

Your posts are usually well thought out and rational, even if I disagree with them. Your LDS comment was stupid, didn't apply to anyone in particular, and comes across as desperate. FWIW, most senior mngmt. types at SkyWest that are LDS are Jack-Mormons at best. I don't recall any of them ever 'wearing it on their sleeve' or even alluding to their religion. But I guess 'Mormon bashing' is still seen as perfectly acceptable by tons of folks who would otherwise scourge the intentional maligning of anyone else based on their chosen faith.

PS-didn't you quit this board?

THEY ARE BITTER BECAUSE THE SKYW PILOTS ARE WILLING TO FOCK EVERY ONE WITH THOSE FOCKED UP RATES. THEY ARE GETTING ASA PLANES BECAUSE THEY ARE CHEAP LAB OR.
I BET THEY BELIEVE DELTA PAYS SKYW THE SAME TO OPERATE 70 AND 50 SEAT AIRCRAFT.

THEY ARE RIGHT UP THERE WITH MESA. SCREWING EVERY ONE INCLUDING THEMSELVES. WHAT A BUNCH OF IDIOTS. THEY ARE A BIG REASON WE ARE HAVING TO FIGHT SO HARD FOR A DECENT CONTRACT. WHAT A BUNCH OF IDIOTS. OH, I ALREADY SAID THAT

How would I even be aware that they are Mormons, had they not made a point of letting us know? Anyway, I have nothing against Mormons in general, but a few specific Mormons seem to be holding to the tenets of their faith which teaches that folks like me are "ignorant, an abomination, corrupt, of the devil, who will recieve dangation." *

If the dangation was being bought by SkyWest, then I guess prophesy is being fulfilled. Is this the justification for taking ASA's airplanes when SkyWest management admits to their shareholders that expenses are increased by the re-allocation of ASA's airplanes to SkyWest? If business is business, how do you explain decisions which increase costs while providing no tangible benefit?

RJ's are built by French Canadians and the engines are built by General Electric and everyone knows that folks who live in Ohio drink beer. My goodness, what will we do?

when did they do that? was it in company correspondance? I've never heard anything of the sort at SkyWest.
