Are there any recent Shebles students here that could give me some advice on the place? Where is the best place to stay? I am heading down there Feb. 23 for my instrument. Any help you guys have is much appreciated.

Kingman is a real small town. Just get on the Internet and check for what hotels are available. You should have no problem focusing on your training. You might ask Sheble if they have an agreement with a hotel as well.

Good Luck

Call Sheble's back and ask them where to stay. I had a couple of friends that stayed at a place that Sheble's owns. They will hook you up with a good cheap rate.

My opiniion

I trained at sheble out of the Henderson Nevada location 4 miles from Las Vegas ( as the crow flies) Cheap hotel rooms and food and some early nights on the town. Have you considered that location I flew with sheble across the mountains and took the ME check ride out of the Kingman location and ferried a 172 back after the ride it was a neat experience. Even crossed the Colorado river . Chas

There is a hotel in Kingman that has a deal with Shebles. I think that it is a quality inn. It was a decent place, and there is a breakfast there which isn't too bad(cereal, muffins, oj). They also have a free shuttle to the airport. It is about a 10-15 minute drive so you can save some gas money with that. I enjoyed my time there. Everyone is very friendly and willing to help. My advice would be to make sure that you have a good grasp on the academic part of the IFR stuff, and then everything else will go well. I went there last April but I assume that nothings changed much.

good luck!

p.s. If you want a really good steak, try the "Dam Bar." Good stuff. If you do stay at the quality inn it is within walking distance of the hotel.
