I am really not up what going on with TSA and *************************s but am researching. I sent a resume to TSA just to see. I only have 51 multi and didn't expect a response nor do I really think I want to fly for a regional. I got an e-mail back from GO jets inviting me to an interview. I don't meet their min either I was confused at first and no nothing about *************************s so why did they respond instead of TSA? I have read some threads about this and i think i will stay away

Do a search on the GJ situation, it'll yield plenty of info. And yeah, a lot of times they take guys trying to apply at or start class at TSA and try to get them to switch to GJ.

Flyer172R, thanks for the educated response, I am not familiar with some of the regional hiring practices or what going on with them.

Flame

TCBKING ,
I ask a question about a particular hiring practice and you call it flame?

Ask question= get info

I guess thats why they call this site flight info huh?

Resume to TSA, but yet an interview invite at G-O-J_E-T

Separate companies, yeah riiiiiight. How many other people send a resume to Continental, but yet get an interview invite to Delta...

Stay the hell away from anything associated with Uncle Hulas; the $hittiest executive management people in the biz.

I just had to laugh :)

Because they are starting to blend the companies and it is pissing more and more people off who were just dealing with the situation how it was. We now have a lot of execs who are in charge of "TSA holdings" instead of TSA or HoJet. Seperate companies my ass. Recruiting is the same for both airlines and they, I dont think, even look at what company resumes are addressed to, nor do they care. Our hiring pool was up to around 150 or 200 just in case we got the coex stuff and they sent all those people letters inviting them to Ho Jets and I dont think anybody took the jobs. Things are getting worse at TSA and we TSA pilots are fighting the fight even if it means losing the fight.

Submit it to APLA. If they are really doing that, how are they seperate. Reply back that you don't know who they are and that you applied to TSA and so on. I would think that it is illegal for a company that you apply to give your resume to some place you didn't even know about.

You don't want to go with HoJet. TSA is in contract negotiations and I believe it will come down to a strike to get that flying and then back to the bottom. PLus when and if you fly with a TSA guy expect SOP callouts only. Your life will not be enjoyable.

I will not begrudge a guy a chance to feed his family but there many other oppurtunities out than HoJet. Most of those guys going think they are skirtting the system and getting a quick upgrade but they will be back on the bottom once this goes through. I am sure many of those guys that went there will quit en masse rather than deal with the hostile work enviroment they will be placed into. Save yourself the grief, don't go with HoJet. Anywhere else.....

I work for TSA and as much as guys complain, it's not that bad. No matter where you go in the regional business, it's going to have it's own set of issues. ONe thing about TSA is that "The Howlin Hindu" knows how to make money and your paycheck isn't going to bounce.

Apparently the NMB thought they were seperate because they have different hat brass and a different website.

They are not doing that....they tell potential hires that we are not hiring at trans states...would you be interested in GJ. If not not a problem, just giving opportunities for a to interview for a job if they are interested.

Sad, but true. Just another example of government's active participation in the war against Labor in the airline industry.

I dont know how true this is but suposedly there is a kid in the hojet training now whos daddy is an alpa pilot and he called alpa to see what the deal is with ho-j and they told him that it is a non issue and if his kid gets a class there he should take it.

The recruiters have always been the same people. If you talk to a Trans States recruiter guess what. You're talking to a Go Jet recruiter. It's the same in most departments.

This is very true....a friend of my dad's is a check airman for american airlines and he says that now days it is a non issue to the majors...get pic 121 as fast as you can and get out...they believe all this regional bickering is rediculous...experience is what matter to the majors.

That may be true...and guess what, that is ONE persons' opinion. Maybe one day you or any other pilot will walk into an interview where the interviewer has a different opinion, let's say, a negative one about joining a whipsaw group.

GJ is not a whipsaw....they are an airline conceived to operate a United Express contract....this makes Trans States Holdings a stronger Holding company by spreading contracts out so they dont have to rely on just one Airline contract. They will also try to get a contract with Northwest. It is smart business.....the holding companies that just service one contract are really struggling right now and may not survive. I am happy to keep educating you and im sure you are smart enough to understand business. Hell a lot of US companies are sending their work overseas. At least we are able to keep our jobs in America.
