Let's say I am a mechanic with a regional, such as Air Wisconsin, and am qualified as a pilot and get the nod to move to the cockpit. Would my company seniority as a mechanic count toward my pilot pay rate or will I start over at "new hire pay"?

You won't hold hire date seniority so you probably won't hold hire date pay.

Your benefits would most likely be based on your hire date as a mechanic. Your pilot seniority and pay would be based on your class date as a pilot.
