It's a series of tubes!!!!

The Internet is not something you just dump something on.

It's not a big truck.

It's a series of tubes. And if you don't understand, those tubes can be filled and if they are filled, when you put your message in, it gets in line and it's going to be delayed by anyone that puts into that tube enormous amounts of material, enormous amounts of material.

Pocono, you do not appear to have any clue who or what Ted Stevens is and how he might have effected your life.

Think before you write and if your unsure don't write anything.

this is why things should be named for people after they die. will anchorage now be known as

ted "ex con" stevens international

Um...I know who he is, and he's the Poster Boy for Term Limits.

Think before you write and if your unsure don't write anything.

Would an example of "unsure" be using "effected"? Or perhaps "your" instead of "you're"?

Oh yeah...commas are useful too.

Whoa!

October 2005 Wastewatcher: Sen. Stevens has helped the Alaska Fisheries Marketing Board (AFMB) get $29 million from federal taxpayers since 2003. The board gave Alaska Airlines $500,000 to paint a giant king salmon on one of its jets and to distribute fishing industry-themed bookmarks to passengers. The AFMB is a murky group, with members that include business partners Trevor McCabe (former aide to Ted Stevens) and state Sen. Ben Stevens (son of Ted Stevens).

don't forget Congressman Don Young either! Both are some of the best earmarking corrupt "representatives" in the government!

I'm not sure if I'm rooting for the FBI or Satan to get to him first.

I guess jail, followed by hell would be ok.

Wow, you have FI posts of the month?

You must really have no life. LOL
Don't worry, you have the "other" FI award...

You actually beat out InstructorDude for the spot, congrats.

Ouch. Harsh words.

By the way, what county fair did you get your avatar airbrushed at?

PIPE

it was that guy in vegas on fremont street who spray paints everything......;)

InstructorDude v. Pocono Pilot.
Now that would be a thread worth reading. Right up there with the Weekly World News and sadly terminating circulation very soon.

You can't deny that is the coolest paint job on an aircraft ever!

Stevens is just the tip of the Alaska iceberg (pardon the pun)...

As of today, Alaska's entire Congressional delegation is under investigation. Of course, the state's delegation consists of 3 people, Representative Don Young, Senator Lisa Murkowski and Senator Ted Stevens.

The US Attorney's Public Integrity unit out of DC is apparently in charge of the probes. This past Monday, the FBI executed a search warrant at Steven's vacation home in Alaska. They were there for over 8 hours. According to Roll Call, a daily Capitol Hill paper, it's the first time in the history of the Republic that a sitting Senator (not Representative) has had a search warrant executed on his property. Not so good for Teddy.

This whole thing has likely grown out of an investigation last year involving Stevens' son, Ben Stevens. A number of Veco Oil executives recently pled guilty to bribing Ben Stevens, among other Alaska state legislators. The FBI had executed search warrant at Ben Stevens' office last August and while the father cannot be responsible for the son's sins, in politics - especially in a low-population state like Alaska where Ted Stevens is a sort-of king and Stevens the Younger a prince - this has been brewing for some time.

Sadly, I know that Senator Stevens has supported some important aviation advancements, most notably the development and implementation of ADS-B in Alaska which it appears has probably saved many lives.

Strangely, the whole Fredo Gonzales debacle has actually helped the Public Integrity unit because Fredo and his political appointee capos at the Justice Department have been either been emasculated to the point where the career prosecutors (people who sincerely care about enforcing the law without political considerations) can tell them to F*** off or those capos are now gone from US DOJ (Kyle Sampson and Monica Goodling come to mind).

Based upon what I've read and my own knowledge, I think there's a pretty good chance Senator Stevens is going to prison within the next year.

Here's a good synopsis of what's been going on with the Alaska delegation (the Senators' stories are in reverse chronological order so start at the bottom and work your way up - Rep. Young is just a sampling of four stories):

Stories about Senator Stevens' current troubles

Stories about Senator Lisa Murkowski's troubles

I'm just disappointed it took this long to investigate Stevens.

Did you see his performance during the hearings with Big OIL Company CEOs in front of a congressional panel last year? When they were asked to take an oath, ol' Teddy boy stood up and fillibustered such a requirement. He basically started yelling at Boxer and a number of other reps for daring to insist that an oil exec take an oath. He simply would not allow his beloved oil execs to say another word if they were required to take oath. can you believe that? I mean, I know senators and oil are corrupt but to be so brazen about it on national TV. Just goes to show how incredibly out of touch they are (and above the law they think they are).

The entire statements by the oil execs were done w/o being under oath and therefore were probably disproportionally aversions to the truth.

Of course, the press only spent 2 minutes on this gross negligence of a Senator... they were too obsessed with Natalie Hollaway and Paris Hilton stories to worry about the price of oil.

The month after these proceedings the Exxon chief reported the largest CEO salary in US History. Something like $425 million.

Yea, that was totally pathetic. But it would make sense, since he's a pathetic excuse for a human being.

Nothing but trash in a pinstriped suit.
