Hi all, got a question...

I have acquired an FO hat (Superior Cap Co.) with gold strap. I'm going to put it on ebay and want to list airlines using this hat in the ad. Anyone know who uses this one?

I am aware of the security issues surrounding selling pilot uniforms on ebay, but I have enough hats in the collection, and this one is brand new. I plan on stipulating that the buyer show evidence of airline employment and that their name appears on the FAA Airman registry.

Thanks for any help!

I don't think it's that big of a deal. I've got a captain hat for company XYZ. The person who got it for me (as a present, I wouldn't pay for one myself) didn't even have to tell the pilot it was for me or anything. He just got it.

Now it's collecting dust in a box. I did wear it last time I flew in order to have a good laugh and take some pics.

Why not require a background check while you're at it? Deny hats to anybody with a felony record, or more than two parking tickets? After all, by forcing someone to prove they're a pilot, you'll prevent widespread terrorism.

Seems to me that a few of the folks piloting aircraft into the WTC, Pentagon, and Pennsylvania fields were on the airman database, too. How exactly is verifing that the purchaser of your hat going to save the day?

I think I'm going to bury my hats. Get a lead lined vault. Now that the assault weapons regulations have been pushed back, the emphasis will be on hats. I can put the suppressors back on all my gear put my birdcages back on my AR series weapons...but hats, no way. I'm going to start with the ball caps, then the peak caps (c-caps, for the less correct), and finally my crush caps. No government yahoo is coming to take my hats away. They can have my hats when they pry my cold dead fingers from them. Hats, all the way.

You're kidding, right??

Avbug...
Shouldn't he be required to have them provide proof of having passed a random drug test?

'Sled

Well now, 'Sled, I don't know. I always thought it was the hat that had to take the drug test.

But that brings additional issues to mind. If someone is going to buy this hat, do they have the proper permits? Better check, state by state. Also verify that they can safely transport the hat, and that if they intend to secure it, they have a concealed hat permit.

Prior to sending the hat, check it for cats.

If anybody private messages you asking if the hat is big enough to fit over a turban, forward the message to the FBI. Or the FBH. Federal Bureau of Hats. Or DHS, Department of Hat Security.

You're doing the right thing, though. I would hate to imagine for even a moment that some unscrupulous hat peddler might get his mits on this implement of coverage, or that some headware worshipper might have access to what only the chosen few and exalted users should have. My booties quake in trepidation.

Who's that duo that sang "Muskrat Love" back in the '70's? The Captain and Tenile(sp)? That guy wore a "Captains" hat. He could probably use a new one by now.

Oh wait... I just re-read your post. Didn't realize it's an FO hat. Nevermind... who would want to go see The FO and Tenile?

OK guys, I asked for that I guess. I just remember some guy getting ripped on here a while back for putting an FO blazer on ebay, allowing anyone access to this dangerous piece of kit.

I guess if Sporty can still sell them to joe blow with a fetish for the dorkiest piece of headgear ever created I can too.

So anyway, who uses this d@mn hat besides Airtran?
