Everyone who's lived in Chicago has a good story about how corrupt Daley is. What always gets me is everytime he's up for re-election he always wins by a landslide.....and the city districts he loses in never get their streets plowed in the winter.

Freekin' Daley
GO CUBS!!!

Well, even Sadaam got re-elected w/ 99% of the vote...

Who says that dead people can't vote. Twice.

;)

Well, you know what they say about voting in Chicago: vote early, vote often.

I have lived in Chicago my whole life and never had the chance to fly to Meigs (I know..Pathetic) But was planning on making the trip when that A$$clown tore it up.

DUBYA I can bail ya out if AOPA will represent you.

Someone should go and paint HUGE 36 on the North side and a 18 on the south.

That's true... the pricincts that didn't vote for Daley don't get their streets plowed in winter.

Daley has an incredible "political machine", something he learned from his dad. Chicagoans curse him between elections, but then vote for him because they know that's the only way to get things done. Daley will be mayor until he dies.

I heard the real motivation was that the Chicago Park district wants to float a riverboat casino in the lagoon once the park is finished. Seems they're upset about the flow of tax revenue to Hammond. That was the real motivation to close CGX and make it a park.

The reason why he is always relected by a landslide is that the dead vote for him too.

that pic really makes me sad and angry. I used to live in chicago and as a kid had dreams of flying a cross country into there one day. I never got around to doing that and looks like now I really will never be able to :( I guess flight sim will have to suffice. No offense to democrats on this board, but that guy is a major A$$hole and I hope he doesnt get reelected

I did fly into there several times. We have a favorite restaurant downtown, and on our anniversary flew into Meigs, caught a cab, a few minutes later we were there. We had planned to go there on my wife's birthday, in April last year, and thought it was an April Fool's joke that the runway was closed. Unfortunately, it wasn't. It was a very convenient place to fly into if you were going downtown.

Funny thing is that they've (the city of Cleveland) have been filling in the area around Burke Lakefront Airport by dumping dirt into the lake and expanding the airport area out into the breakwater. Next time you land the 24's in CLE check out what I'm talking about. There are some here who want the same fate for BKL as Meigs. Luckily they still have the economic attractions of a Champ Car race and airshow every year to justify it's existence. But those may not last much longer.

Daly is an @ss....

That project to fill in the area surrounding BKL for future expansion has been stopped as of 2000 I believe. No new dirt has been added since then and talk of a new runway or expansion have long since died off. The airshow and race keep that place alive.
