Can anyone suggest a good pair of shoes that can go through security without setting off the detectors. I am getting really sick of stripping everytime I go to work (in front of the same TSA agents, whom I almost know by name). Thank god I did a 10 year background check.

Dont waste your time...

It might be different for flight crew but here is my experience:
As an intern, my ID was good only at the home location (SDF). Worked great there and never took off my shoes because i knew it didnt set anything off.
Went to DTW, they "strongly suggested" I take off my shoes, but since i knew they didnt set it off, I kept them on and walked through....Upon reaching the other side, I was informed I was "automatically" chosen as a "random" selectee for not removing my shoes....so much for the no beep and you are ok idea....
If you find something that works, let me know.

Ditto on the Deer Stags. I have two pairs. A standard black lace-up for work, and a clunky looking brown casual shoe that I wore around Europe to blend in with the locals. Never had a problem passing security with either pair.

Doc Martens. I never take them off and I've never been asked. And I've been through security at DTW plenty o' times...

Are all the Deer Stags shankless? What model of Deer Stags do you have? I need a pair of black shoes to go with my uniform. Thanks again for specific info.

Rocky Boots work. I got the TMC kind no metal at all and they are comfortable took like 3 days then they molded to my feet. Plus they are boots that go up past the ankles and the tread on them is awesome. Never set off the metal detector and work great on the walk around (i need to upgrade soon) when the ramp is covered with snow and glycol. Got mine from Dicks Sporting goods for 60 bucks. www.rockyboots.com

If your current shoes are still good, take them to a shoe shop and have them replace the metal shanks with fiberglass or even leather shanks. Costs about $7.
Otherwise, ECCO. More pricey but also the most comfortable dress shoe I've ever worn. They have a nice slip-on shoe. I bought the slip-on so if I have to take it off it's hassle free!

You know, it is funny how they do not talk about that in the ad for those shoes. You think they would as it being a selling point.

They look JUST like what I am wearing right now...lil fraid to take em off cause my feet might stink :(

Wankel

Gotta pay attention to which Deer Stags you are buying...I have two pairs with metal shanks and one pair without. Look for the airport friendly tag. Very comfortable shoes though.

DEER STAGS!!! Light comfortable waterproof, never set them off even in the little Nazi airport security detectors at east bumble alabama regional.

Bates uniform shoes.

I have some Chukka boots that do not set off the alarms.
