The powerplant was not a PT6A, though they are extremely reliable and darn near "bulletproof," in terms of operational reliability. In this case, the powerplant was a Honeywell/Garrett TPE-331-11.
A fresh investigation is underway, and accordingly, I am not at liberty to comment on the cause. I will submit that this wasn't an engine failure, per se. I did have one a day after I flew this airplane, in a different airplane with a -11 powerplant, due to a FCU failure.
The Dromader to which the article refers in this thread is back in service, and was flown off the road where it landed, the following day.
