Question:
If people want to put a "scope" clause in their pre-existing or new contract(s) doesn't management have to approve it?

By "people" I assume you mean pilots. The contract is between the pilot group and the airline's management, so yes, all changes to a contract have to be approved by both parties (unless the airline is in bankruptcy.)

So as for the pinnacle pilot group adding new scope language into their contract stating that "all flying has to be done by a union shop or it will remain 34 seats or less" can be laughed at by management.

If it doesn't benefit management, they won't agree to it unless you are in regular contract negotiations...in which case they might give it up, but only if you horse-trade for it (like mesa did when they gave up all work rules to get scope on Freedom).

im more afraid about being repersented (not perse by the people heading it up) than anything else. PCL mgmt is good at picking holes in contracts, and we are noobs in that world.

Union Scope

Be afraid of the scope. Very afraid. The only thing that is worse is the integration of the seniority list that will also be on the table.

Understand that without representation, this is going to happen. Colgan guys need to know Pinnacle has said this is the most important part of their new contract. Turboprop scope clause. It's time, Colgan brothers and sisters!

That's one thing union experts are for. To help negotiate. Without representation, there is no contract and we are at the will of management.

it sounds like we need protection from pinnacle pilots more than management. this is ugly really ugly.

Trusting the love at Nonconnah Blvd?

The pilots are in it together, both groups need protection from managements tactics. One way to fight is to unite.

I agree, Wintergreen Scope is the best!
