This is semi aviation related so I decided I would go ahead and post here. My major is commercial aviation and for my senior project I have to do a rather large research project/paper on something aviation related. The size will need to be 25-30 pages, something along those lines. I have some ideas of what I could do but thought some aviation buffs here could give me some other good ideas. Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks

I'll help you out but you gotta tell me more.

You know what they tell all aspiring writers? Write what you know about.

In other words: If it's genuine, it'll be better.

So.

What are you interested in?
Why did you learn to fly?
Why do you have T-41 time but you're not a college grad?
Who else do you know in aviation?
When did you know you wanted to be a pilot?
Where are you flying?

Who. What. When. Where. And Why? is the foundation of any writing.

Here's another short cut: When you finally decide on a topic and start writing follow this recipie:

Tell us what you're gonna tell us.
Then tell us.
Then tell us what you told us.

Writing by formula sort of sucks but the professors love it and it'll almost guarantee you a 'B' grade.

So let's have it. Talk to me Goose.

I did a couple large research reports on aviation related topics, including:

1. A380 vs. Boeing Sonic Cruiser (may not be relevant now).
2. Effects of Fatigue on pilots (I focused on 5 variables that may be related to fatigue, and examined how they can affect performance).
3. Regulations regarding fatigue; should they be changed?

Other good topics include:

1. Pros/cons of regulation.
2. Importance of corporate cultures and leadership (focus on SWA).
3. Unionization- good/bad?
4. Age 60 rule.
5. How the image of commercial aviation has changed over the years, from the early barnstorming days to the today's headaches of air travel.

Good luck!

Success and failure of start up airlines. Notables include Laker Express (success then failure), Southwest, etc. Very relevant in this day and age.

How about a comparisson of the days of regulation vs days of de-regulation.
