Does anyone have any current info on Scenic Airlines Captains pay I have an interview March 8 any help Thanks.

Scenic is no longer a regional airline. Can't wait to see where Longhorn moves this thread to. hehe

Good Company

You start at about $24/hr, but you get paid half that for any duty time not flying. I made $40K last year before taxes, and no overnights (I like my days off, you could easily make/fly more). It's busy in the summer, 100 hrs/mo easy. We aren't CASS, but have JS agreements w/ Delta, US Air, Souhwest, etc. Good Luck!

Not sure if it's worth it?

As an old Scenic pilot I'm still not sure if it's worth going there. Sure it's good place to build time, however, it's just one more year of bad pay. With the regionals hiring the way they are, rent a C-310 and get the twin time.

i agree. get senority at a regional. dont waste time, time building there. build time and senority at a regional. most are hiring and a lot are hiring at low times. just a thought.

it's true there are no overnights but everything else work-wise is bad. You will fly an Otter but I don't think it's worth it.

Work there for 4 months then get hired at SkyWest.....

It's worth it!

  • It's good time: Part-121, turbine
  • The pay isn't bad: It's not great in the right seat, but that's not specific to scenic.
  • You can upgrade in 6 months if you meet the mins.
  • The rest of the industry loves to gobble up Scenic pilots, and they have no problem getting hired anywhere: 40 of them were hired at regionals last year alone.
