The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority published their 6 month list of airlines that were fined for breach of the curfew rules – “taking off between 11:30PM and 6:30AM PST” as follows:
1st Offence ----- $2,000
2nd Offence -----$6,000
3rd Offence ----$10,000
The list of contributors is:

1. Spirit Airlines
a. $2,000
b. $6,000
c. $10,000
2. Alaska, Jet Blue, Delta, Canadian Military and US Airways all paid $2,000 each for the 6 months.
And the wiiner is SDCRA and the biggets losers are the local residents and Spirt

When a flight is delayed for a mechanical or weather before or after arriving there, it may be cheaper to eat this little fine, vs giving away food vouchers and hotel rooms for 156 PAX, plus $400.00 or more in travel vouchers. Not to mention the compensation for missed connections!

That's just for the folks in SAN that were affected, that plane was supposed to either land in SAN or depart after hours for another location, what about the 156 PAX that would be stranded there? That's another problem!!

This fine is just salt in the wound!!

If they keep violating I believe the airport can suspend them. That could prove to be a stupid move

SAN curfew is for takeoffs at night or non Stage 3 airplanes. There is no landing curfew.

Sorta makes these fines self inflicted. Pay up Spirit!
