The past six months I've been out of LAX, but before that and again in a few months I will be back to departing SAN. The loads on UA are ok, the first one in the morning was usually easy to get on. Frontier has been really good in the past as well. Done the SAN-PHX-DEN route a few times. A number of guys I know avoid the hassle and go PSP-DEN.
