btrthn5n5,
As others have stated, the best advice is to go with the company that has a domicile in or near where you want to live. This too could change in an instant (Delta & ASA in Dallas, Air Wisconsin in Chicago), but it really is your only known quantity in the short term.
As previously mentioned, Skywest doesn't pay during training. You'll have to pay for food, drink, Jepp's, and uniform. You will be forced to share a hotel room during training, and they won't even make it palatable by going coed! You'll start getting some money after completing your aircraft checkride.
If you want to help us correct this egregious abuse of new hires tell Skywest no thanks, and why you elected to go to Comair. Just do it professionally so the bridge goes unburned. The VP of Flight Op's doesn't like shafting new hires either, but his boss demanded budget cuts. New hires took the biggest hit, and there will be no policy shift until management cannot find quality applicants willing to train without compensation.
Overall, Skywest is a good company with great people. The flying is diverse, and an upgrade in the Brasilia could be pretty quick.
I recommend Plan C though...Go back to school, and fly for leisure instead of a career!
