Is D & D Aviation still around?

They operate Lears and stuff

Why not ASA or bumming? Most units I talked to have more time then pilots. Might want to start calling around.

SLC is pretty senior for ASA, and is probably going bye-bye soon. I'm planning on bumming, but I can't rely on that to pay the bills.

Spend another 250 hours in the pattern and I'm sure SkyWest will take a look at you...

Salmon Air. They fly navajo's freight and 135 commuter to Moab and vernal. It's about 20-30 hours a week for the FO spot on the commuter butyou have to live in moab or vernal. 4 days a week sched. They're in Terminal 1 next to Continental and Southwest

Yeah the girl over at C&M got SLC right out of training. But now she is worried with all the talks of closing it. You should not have a problem bumming. One guy I talked to gets 2-4 local flights a week and one overseas trip a month. He has been doing this since May and loves it.

I was looking in to them a few months ago. One of the guys I talked to said that they don't have any of their navajos in SLC, but they would sometime in March.

Does anyone have any information on them? I'd imagine navajo FO pay has to be horrific...

FO pay is about 1700 a month. Their web site is salmonair.com. PA31's based in SLC for freight, in CNY and VEL for passengers

Haha whats wrong with Mesa?
You're kidding, right???

Any chance of voluntering to the desert?
Yes, but I've been away from the wife and kids since the beginning of UPT (about 20 months). There's no way I'm volunteering to go anywhere anytime soon unless I have to for financial reasons.

CoATP - Do you work for Salmon? Any idea who to contact about applications?

Thanks!

No. Just know people that have been successful there. Off to SKywest, Empire, Expressjet, et. al. Stop by the ticket counter in the am (about 8:30-10) or about 3-6 and ask cindy. Nice lady she's the airport mgr for them

Well Mesa is not the end of the world. Upgrades are pretty quick. What part of SLC are you moving to?

AWAC! Although SLC-ORF would be a terrible b!tch of a commute...Mesa might provide you with a means-to-an-end, getting you on with SKW or another western carrier. Great Lakes flies out of DEN I think and upgrade there is quick, but you can definately make more money bummin'. Big Sky is another possibility, also with crummy pay.

Go talk to as many charter operators as possible. Beechjet jobs CAN be found at that time (I had an offer for one without a type) but you've gotta look hard for them.

Good luck!

Already live in West Jordan, not too far from SLC#2. Thanks for all the replies so far!
