I work for a large IT company based outside of Dallas (I live + work in Boston). They annouced a series of salary freezes and whatnot last week at our quarterly meeting (well, the CEO announced them, we were told the week prior), and basically told "You are all lucky to have jobs and you're overpaid".
How often do you corporate guys get affected by that? I wonder, because the executives generally see a direct benefit / ROI on what you do -- rather than us cogs at the bottom of the machine, who may not "touch" them as closely. We all take our cash from the same pool when you get down to it, and executive benefits are under scrutiny, but I can't (or can, actually) argue both ways.
Just wondering...
Cheers,
-Andrew
