Hi Everyone,

Not sure what forum my information belongs in anymore, but I will post it here.

Someone PM'd me and asked me about a website to compare salaries and cost of living between states. I think the best site for this is www.salary.com. It is pretty comprehensive and tells you the difference between your salary now and what you would have to make to achieve the same standard of living.

Hope it is helpful!

Great site for accountants, bad for pilots.

The median expected salary for a typical Co-Pilot (Large Non-Jet) in Omaha, NE is $45,333.

But the salary compensator is a brilliant idea. I just hope it's more on target.

Yikes! The website says I should be making 60k a year more than what I making. Where do I sign up for the raise?

Anyway, the site is not very accurate. I inquired about a small jet captain position and it spit out a figure 34k HIGHER than NBAA.

Thanks for the link Kathy. It might help someone.

I was more looking at it from the perspective of:

"If I live in PHX and decide to take a job in ICT, what would be the difference in cost of living."

I think the salary part of it is way off for pilots because, as you all know, the public thinks you are all making six figures. It also does not take into account supply and demand. Not sure when these salary figures were established either and whether they take into the equation the whole picture of regionals versus majors.

Look at it more from the point of how much would I have to make to live there at my same standard of living.

oMNIJET

Another site to view crew salaires is www.omnijet.com . Click on Performace and Cost and select aircraft type. And while the salaries listed may seem high compared to the actual Part 135 BOTTOM FEEDER realities in the market place, it is an excellent place to get other data on your aircraft.

Interesting....Is there any such website for turboprop aircraft?

Thanks...

$88,089?

Well, that answers the question of where this thread belongs:

That is pretty funny! Would you have to be giving flight instruction to everyone living in Manhattan at least once to get that kind of money, working 24/7?

Seriously though, this is a general website and the only reason I posted it was to compare cost of living in cities. However, on their website they say that they received these figures from calling HR Departments and getting their input through some survey. I would like to know which Flight School they called to get THAT information! :) I think they should get some email from everyone on this board asking where they got their outlandish pilot figures.
