Saddam got caught in Tikrit at approx 8:30 P.M. Local time, according to CNN this morning. Not a shot was fired. He was apparently hiding in a dirt pit approx 4x4.

Saddam gets caught, the DOW tops 10,000, CAL announces recalls, Christmas is only a few weeks away, and SWA is going to hire 400 next year. Things are looking up!

Great news I hope , business sky rockets up and pilots can quit flying free and can take destiny on their own hands!
 
Let's hope our soldiers in Iraq stop getting killed now that the big bad man is out of the equation!

What's next for 2004? Osama, sure would tie down Bush for re-election.

Hussein is, and always has been, just a great big wuss. Now he gets to show it to the world. He's going to blabber on and on like my ex-wife and embarass alot of Socialist goverments leaders as well as Janine Garafalo.

Hey Saddam, Qhaddafi wants to know who is doing your hair these days. They didn't exactly catch you looking your best. But hey, no worries, we'll treat you at least as well as you treated our POWs.

BTW, the liberal morons are already saying his treament is inhumane. No wonder this country is in such a mess.

I also agree with the above poster. They should of capped him and got it over with. The media charade and legal wrangling will reach a point of ad naseum rather quickly.

Perhaps we didn't "cap" him because we have values, unlike him and his ilk.

Besides, he may have information we need.

For the most part with others I'd agree. My thinking with Sadaam is from seeing the thousands of people including women and children he exterminated with gas. This combined with his other known genocide practices, he doesn't deserve to have the privildge of being graced with our value system.

What values are you talking about? We supported Saddam for years when his government was fighting a war against Iran. We gave him plenty of arms, which he then used on his own people (The Kurds and the Shi-ite).

We knew, and continued to support him right up to Gulf War I. Hundreds of thousands of Iraqi's dead, but as long as he was fighting Iran our government thought Saddam was O.K. There is even video of Saddam shaking hands with Donald Rumsfield years ago.

Fast forward to the present. Bush called Turkey, "one of our best friends in terror". Yet, Turkey has killed 40,000 Kurdish peasants who are resisting recent government oppression in the southeastern part of that country.

While I'm glad Saddam will no longer be a threat to anyone, unfortunately our government supports terrorism if it is in "our" national interest.

This is not an American problem, whether it is France in Algeria, Indonesia in East Timor, or Japan in China...our agenda unfortunately allows us to turn our heads and close our eyes when misery takes place.

There is plenty of evil in the world, but unfortunately if you look close enough our government is sometimes lurking behind it and pushing it along.

Ha ha, not quite.

As I said, this isn't purely an American problem. France did horrible, murderous things in Algeria. The German history speaks for itself and I know there has been a lot of criticism with Russian policy in Checnyia (I know, I probably spelled that one wrong).

I just hope he isnt't allowed any public interviews (I know Dan Rather is chomping at the bit). What he might say could excalate the terrorist violence in Iraq.

Certainly our history is not without blemish, but to compare our actions throughout history with the likes of Hussein, Milosovic, Hitler, et al., is absurd.

Who's comparing us to them? But if you want to go there, I really don't think you can compare Hussein or Milosovic to Adolf Hitler or Stalin. And not to sound like a commy, pink-o, treehugging, fag...but do you consider practically annihilating an entire people (native American Indians), Slavery (pre Hitler Era), the pre civil-rights era (post Hitler era), our actions in countries like Vietnam and Laos blemmishes - just to name a few?

Americans are fed propaganda just like everyone else! I think that's what Noam was basically saying.

I think sadumb is the biggest embarrasment to the arab world in the past hundred years. Well not that they werent embarassed routinely the past 55 years, but this just takes the cake. So much for jihad.

My prediction is Baghdad finally becomes the new Tokyo. Summer vacation kayaking the Euphrates anybody?
