I think there are some folks on here who fly/flew for Saber in CLT and was wondering if they (Saber not the pilots) are having troubles. I know they got hit with a big fine from the feds over MX records not long ago, and from what I've heard from talking to their pilots they arent exactly "the" place to work.
Anyway, my point is, over on eBay one of their DC-3s is up for auction (no bids yet, starts at $250k, closes in 3 days for those of you with secure jobs at the majors). I was wondering if they are selling off the fleet, or maybe upgrading.
For anyone unfamiliar they operate several DC-3s, two in WWII colors, and at least one with a real combat history in the European theater. From what I've heard, they tend to exploit their pilots and those who want to work for them, but at the same time I'd hate to see this piece of aviation and military history leave Charlotte.
Anyone have any input?
PS-I dont mean to offend anyone flying for Saber, my impressions of the company are secondhand based on people I knew who worked there. It may be a great place to work.
