That LOC DME 15 at ASE would sure be nice...

Yes it is a pain but not to bad. Contact the Denver FSDO, they have all the info you'll need to get going on the requirements and the training plan necessary. You should also contact FSI as they will have to put together the GS/Sim course for you. I know for a fact that the Tucson and TEB centers have done this.
On the subject of the LOC DME 15; IT SUCKS!!!!!!!!! There are 11, count 'em, 11 EXCEPTIONS to TERPS for that approach. It is very labor intensive to conduct properly and if a crew gets even the slightest bit behind the aircraft while shooting the approach they will find themselves with an excessive descent rate which WILL set off the EGPWS between 9,000 to 10,000 msl.
The GPS Z is IMO a better option and as someone who is or has been qualified to conduct both approaches it would be my recommendation. Also, keep in mind that if any one of the required Navaids on the LOC DME 15 are inop you are not using that appraoch whereas the GPS Z is a stand alone procedure.

Have fun and plan on about 3 to 6 months before getting it all done and approved.
