Part 135 operator based in Sarasota, Florida, has an immediate opening for qualified Saab 340 pilots.

PIC minimum requirements: SAAB-340 type rating, ATP, 3000 Total Time, and First Class Medical.

Applicant must live in or be willing to relocate to Sarasota. Salary commensurate with experience level. Competitive benefits. For immediate consideration, please fax resume to 941-342-7776 or email to [email protected]. No phone calls please

Actually, It cost the same to get you a SAAB type as it does to get a pilot already typed current. So if you already have PIC time, and alot of SAAB time, that would work too.

Its the insurance thing for our captains.

Hey Gmeech, you know a guy by the name of C. Ball?

Saab Job

What type of job is this - Cargo, Passenger, both?
How much flight time and time away from base can I expect?

I am interested, however, I once landed a Saab 340 with the parking brake engaged (I was playing with it inflight). Both main tires were flat and the rims were bent. This made the aircraft fairly difficult to move.

We didn't have the equipment to change the tires (that is a story in itself) so the Airport Authority was getting ready to remove the aircraft from the runway - with a Snowplow.

The Chief Pilot came out to the airplane and put the flaps to 35 (yes, the guard had to be removed). At full power the aircraft still wouldn't move. He decided to give it all the aircraft had. This meant overtemping the engines. He figured the snowplow would result in a total loss of the aircraft - overtemping would just thrash the engines.

So this story really had a happy ending. The plane did make it off the runway and jacks were flown in from another base so the tires could be changed.

I didn't even lose my job. That would come later while I was in training at a major airline. They discovered I had lied on my application.

So I am not sure you'll want me to fly. Something in management might be better.

Frank,

Your "Mishap" shouldn't be held against you. As long as you told the Chief Pilot to go screw himself and as long as you are a NWA washout, I'm sure this Saab Outfitter will welcome you with open arms.

I meet the TT , I have over 1600 hrs in the Saab, but no type.

Can you answer a few questions:
Type of flying
Pay
QOL

Thanks

XJXJXJ,
Yeah that does fill in the blanks for the incident. The chief pilot was just one of people I told to go screw themselves at the company.XJ -Do I know you?

No, not sure if I know you. I heard a good conspiracy story that NWA would hire you and then fire you just to get you out of the Red Tail family. Thats what ya get for being such a nasty thorn in the side of Big Daddy Red Tail.

Ahhhh XJ,

Now you are talking like a true Red-Headed bastard NWA stepchild. I see XJ is flying into ORD starting in June. I am thinking of going out of my way just to rub it in to the jerk-off gate agents.

I do. What's up?
Not much...I go way back with C. Ball. Went to 141 school with him a decade or so ago, kept in touch with him over the years and worked with him at doug carmody's place in Beaufort SC. I used to visit Mr. Ball when he worked for the 135 operator in OWB. I havent talked much to him since he moved down south though.

Is it my imagination or does it appear that frankdrebin and XJXJXJ appear to be the same author? And does it appear that he is having a conversation with himself?

Simple Explainations

Naw... That would be too much work if we were the same person. We both, obviously, have knowledge of certain events. Unfortunately that means a lot of what we have said is inside info.
Sorry...

Frank
