After reading about ryanair's recent aircraft order I was curious and checked their website. After converting to US dollars ryan wants you to pay 24k for a 73 type rating and then in three "short" years you can make less than 40k as a "senior FO". Captains pull in a whopping 60k. Maybe the cost of living plays a factor in western europe but these numbers seem pretty crazy.

Not only do the numbers seem crazy, the P-F-T aspect also seems crazy. I do understand that SW folks have to buy their 73 type before they can be considered for a job, but the prospects there are better.
