got a question, if you loose a magneto will your EGT go up or down? and i need an explination also...this is for a class...

Down because you aren't burning all the fuel that is coming into the cylander (sp?).
 
Up...the fuel/air mixture burns slower and has less time to cool down before reaching the EGT probe.
 
I think it will stay the same.:)

that's what i thought but wasn't sure...
 
Absolutely up for the reason Wiggums gave. The POH may have some info on what power setting to run the engine on one mag. Typically, I recall 55-60% as an average.
