I don't have 100k sitting around, hell I don't have 100k monopoly money. But, if I did, I would put it on it. It's a done deal. ASA may not get all 65 planes worth of flying but, SKYW will and it may be split between ASA and SkyW.Crash Pad said:If you really believe that rumor you would have already bought as much SKYW as you could get your hands on. Until someone jumps on this board and says... I heard from a source good enough that I put 100K on it... I don't believe it.
That being said. Yep it's a done deal get your bids in now. Sell your place and but a new one in Newark.
no more CRJs are being made. I don't know how many Indy had left. CAL will have the ERJs being flown by express. As I understand it, express has the option to put them to use somewhere else or turn them over to CAL. I don't know if that is correct or not but, I do know there isn't anywhere outside of CALs system that can use 69 ERJs. So, I don't see how express is going to be able to use them. So, SkyW will staff the planes for CAL because express has refused to.Sinca3 said:People!!!! Why would Skywest bring another aircraft type on the property? Where would they get these a/c?
If Continental or any airline, for that matter, wants feed they don't care so much if it is a erj or crj 50 seater. Just that it is a 50 seater and the company providing the feed is doing it at the price they want to pay!!
If ASA were to bring another a/c type onto the property it would be b/c the aircraft they currently use isn't able to do a certain type of flying.
I personally don't believe this rumor at all. If ASA were to get the flying though I would bet it will be using CRJ's.

Read in Flying magazine on the plane, er..in the crew lounge, that bombardier is starting to make new 200's. This is starting in April. Flaimbait--commence.ohplease! said:no more CRJs are being made. what other major is expanding their feed enough to need 69 planes?Standby 1 said:While it should be expected on this board, this post is a premium example of someone posting on a subject they know nothing about. You don't know if it is correct or not if Express has the option of using the airplanes?? Perhaps you should find that out for certain before you claim those a/c are going to Skywest, eh? Oh, but you do know for certain there's no where else those a/c could be used. Specifically tell us how you know that. Specifically tell us how you know Express isn't keeping those aircraft. Man, you must really have the inside scoop that even Express management and the Express MEC isn't privvy to.....how cool are you?
first I've heard of that. I don't see why they would. I would think new growth will be atleast 70 seats.sXeflyer said:Read in Flying magazine on the plane, er..in the crew lounge, that bombardier is starting to make new 200's. This is starting in April. Flaimbait--commence.

An express guy on my JS a few weeks ago told me they had the option to keep them. I have no way to know different. I didn't say they wouldn't keep them. Just that I don't think they will. I never claimed to have the answers. Just an opinion. Same as you.

I'd be suprised to see the 69 airplanes get turned over by XJT to the newest CAL little b!tch. I've even heard that the XJT management would just as soon park them and pay the leases rather then give them up. Of course it came from the training department so take that for what it's worth. It makes zero sense for Skywest to start flying ERJ at this point in time in a limited quantity. Whoever wins this thing isn't winning the keys to Camelot like some suggest. CAL is low balling the bejesus out of everyone coming to play.ohplease! said:no more CRJs are being made. I don't know how many Indy had left. CAL will have the ERJs being flown by express. ok. Its my opinion: its a done deal. sorry to irritate you.Standby 1 said:What makes you think Express would use the airplanes to feed another major? For heaven's sake, they could use the planes in a variety of other capacities (XJT Holdings has it's hands in quite a few cookie jars) or could park them in the desert for all any of us know.
Look, you're certainly entitled to an opinion, however anyone who has been in this industry for any length of time knows that none of us know sh$t until the official announcement is made at the end of Sept.
Quote from you:
"It's a done deal."
Doesn't sound like an opinion to me, sounds like you presenting stuff as fact (stuff that you don't know to be fact). Not a big deal, just irritating is all.
You've also learned to get gitty at the thought of flying a jet even when you step on another guy's back as he loses his job. That's an advanced lesson that sometimes requires a picket line. Cool dude!BCpilot81 said:All that I can say, that if this were true, the waiting in the pool would be worth it. But that seems like a stretch with the ERJ's let alone with Skywest being the proud new papa to ASA. But I do know that Skywest is trying to push ASA into other markets (being possibly Coex). But one thing that I have learned in this industry, don't believe it until you are sitting in the da*n thing.
isn't that pretty much what I said the express guy on my jumpseat had told me?Superpilot92 said:well considering we own the leases on the planes we have the right to keep them or park em. so until you hear the official announcement from XJET your version holds no weight.
you may well be correct on all countsnimtz said:I'd be suprised to see the 69 airplanes get turned over by XJT to the newest CAL little b!tch. Probably more then enough CRJ's out in the world to cover the 69. Either way I'm sure both the CRJ and ERJ will look good in the desert in the next 5 to ten years. Exactly why many of us want out of the regional game.
