Could there possible be a Brit behind this rumor? Sir Richard Branson to be exact... I heard this rumor a few months ago about how the Freedom certificate was going to be used to start Virgin America. I guess this one refuses to die because of JO's previous business relationship with Branson and the fact that Branson has yet to determine which yank he will be working with from his short list of current airline CEO's that have expressed an interest.

The rumor I heard also explains why Mesa was also in a sudden rush to clear off the F8 certificate, and as to why there is supposedly 737's in the ops specs at F8. To go on I heard that Mesa attempted to add 757's to the F8 certificate and was turned down by the feds because there was too much disparity between currently operated equipment but was told to reapply after 737's were in operation.

Big Dog,
I believe that Mesa acquired the Midway certificate. And Midway had 737s and 757s on the certificate. Supposedly, that would give Mesa the ability to operate both types....
There is more info on Midway at mesalounge.com

Great I have always wanted to fly a 73 or a 75, now I have the oppertunity to do it for table scraps.
