Is Mesa Airlines planning massive furloughs in the next couple months due to AWAC moving 70 planes to the US Air side. The number that was quoted was 700 pilots. My fellow fo side it came from a mesa pilot on his jumpseat. Looking for facts.

Nothing announced. One rumor has it that JO is gonna fork out to finance HP/US merger and to control the regional flying. For JO's own words on this call 1-877-MESA-CEO.

The last I heard JO couldn't even get financing for more airplanes. Where is he going to find the hundreds of millions of dollars to finance a merger?

DT, I don't know. Texas Pacific? Alabama Retirement? Just passing on the rumors inside Mesa. Our MEC is quoted as saying that however this all plays out, it will be on the order of a year or so, not a few months.

And Miller Lite sucks...

Mesa is currently receiving 2 CRJ 700/900's a month. I am hearing this is to slow down until the USAirways codeshare issues are resolved one way or the other. Currently Ornstein is sitting on about 260 Mil in the bank.
