airtran cancels order?

Ok , now that I got your attention...... say it isn't so. Twice today someone mentioned to me that AirTran canceled some of the aircraft orders. I've been swimming in the pool for nigh on 6 months and was hoping to see ATL in the near future.

Tell me that this is all jibberish. I need something happy to focus on while I tread.

I have heard from 3 people that we will only bring on 150 new hires next year instead of 250. For what reasons I don't know.

Ty Webb - he sounds just like Fcharter and there are more than a few of us who think he is.

That would be so funny. I'll have to ask Ty when I see him. I use to fight with fcharter all the time.

I'm almost too embarrassed to say who I was on the old forum... oh well... who cares. Most people don't remember the old forum anyway. I was Turbojet. I was a big pain-in the-@ss.

I know most of the AirTran people on these boards, and many other non AirTran folks that I either am friends with directly or have met through this board. I keep peoples identity a secret. Ty has a right to post his thoughts and I would never betray his confidence.

BTW - Ty is a really nice person, and some of the people that slam him, wouldn't if they really knew him.

And also...FLB717 really is a sharp person, and some of you might want to be nice to him. He might be a player in the AirTran Pilots Union or even management some day. That boy has got some drive, and friends in the right places.

Back to the thread topic. I have seen and experienced change at this company on a dime. Things that are "written in stone" today, are completely gone tomorrow.

My advice, get your "stuff' in if you want to work here... and have lots of patience, and believe only what you know in real time.

It will help you keep your sanity.

Not that this has anything to do with the topic, but it just hit me. Isn't Ty Webb, Chevy Chase's character's name in Caddyshack? It's always been on the tip of my tongue and it just came to me. (I know, I'm a little slow...everyone else probably figured it out 800 threads ago.) I don't have a dog in this fight with him. Frankly, I enjoy reading his commentary; very articulate with a sharp wit. Anyway, FWIW I thought I'd throw that out there.
