Yeah...I think it's real, too. I have this in my collection to show to the CQ classes between breaks to start the next subject. I have a whole collection of stuff. Some aviation related, some just funny clips that I get sent via email. If you're ever in Alaska Airlines MD CQ, you'll get the full repertoire. From the "Trunk Monkey/Trunk Monkey 2" to "jurrasicfart and blind date".....(sort of along the same line), to some aviation related stuff (F-18 carrier landing, stunt pilot flying under a bridge, T-Bird crash from outside the aircraft shot both from the ground and from the cockpit camera, and a photo taken from the tower as the pilot ejected .8 secs before impact, to a PBY landing in a lake with a couple of guys fishing then took off right over them, and then there's one where a British news reporter was doing a story on the Spitfire, and it flew VERY low over his head. He uttered some unmentionable words here; and some "toilet" humor...there's about 3 of those, and to my personal faviorite....Jack in the Box "Fries" (in a Jack Nicholson voice..."Welcome to Jack in the Box. How the he!! are you? My name's Jack, and I'll be happy to fill your order.....) It goes on from there. I'm getting new ones all the time.

I also have the MD-80 hard landing where they snapped the tail section off when they hit so hard during the certification testing.

If anyone has anything they'd like to contribute, the Alaska pilots on here know me, and can email them to me. If you don't know me, send me a PM, and I'll send you my email address. Help lighten up CQ. It's boring enough as it is. :D

It doesn't look even vaugely real to me. watch the motions of the airplane, the manuvering before touchdown and the bouncing after touchdown. It's abrupt, jerky rapid movements which look much more like a lightweight model or a computer image than a real 130,000 pound aircraft. The thing bounces like ping-pong ball, real airliners don't do that. Take a look at real videos of real landing accidents (the one of the empennage breaking off the dc-9 comes to mind) the motions of the planes in those videos aren't anything like that.

This was brought up before on flightinfo a while ago... I think everyone pretty much concluded that it was a well done fake.

It's part of a Danish beer commerical.

If this was real, these are ten or twelve G movements we're looking at. There'd be a team of ambulances waiting at the gate.

It's fake...one way or another.

I have been flying RC models for a long time, it definitely was a model, and maybe a little animation with it.

OK...so it's a well done fake. (As are MOST of the stuff I get vial email....but I do have some really good REAL ones....the F-18 catching the wire with his wingtip on the carrier, the T-Bird crashing at an airshow, and the pilot ejecting .8 secs prior to impacting the ground, the guy getting sucked into the engine intake of an A6 (I believe)...etc..) Who cares? The only thing I care about is that people continue to send me interesting stuff to make the CQ days go quicker. :) PS...I'm looking for funny stuff...not really aviation related stuff. They get enough aviation as it is.

I probably have most everything people send, anyway...but once in a while, I get something new. BTW, like I said in my earlier post, I have the one of the MD-80 (and yes, A-Squared, it's an MD-80, not a DC-9, although techincally, an MD-80 IS a DC-9...so nevermind) during certification testing. I have the whole thing....INCLUDING the part where they snapped the tail off on an intentional hard landing.
