Have any of you used any rod machado material. I use his ppl book with my students and love it but how about the slide show materials and ifr stuff?

I purchased the PPL book, and think it is great.
There are a bunch of pages that I photocopied and added to my CFI binder

His PPL book is great, it's a one stop shop, you don't have to own the FARs, just provide the updated pages on a couple of the FARs (or print out his corrections from his website) and they have all they need for the study part.

Heck if someone non-aviation asks me an aviation question, I almost always use Rod's explanation because it's free of the aeronautical jargon, and it's actually not boring.

Though I still suggest the use Gliem for the test prep, and it's easier to reference the Pilot's Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge from Gliem.

Howdy!
I think using his materials to put together a ground school will make a far better class than Jepp's "show the video give the quiz" format.
At 7PM, the instructor has got to keep the students awake versus the morning classes where everyone is fresh. Most important is to keep the instructor awake.
If you are going to use Rod's book as the text for your ground school, call the number on his website and get the scoop about wholesale pricing.
