RJ had a problem on RWY 26 PHX?

Last night (Wed, 2/6), Closed down 26 for awhile. ground said something about "locking up brakes" and "could not clear the runway". Anybody know anything? I don't even know what company it was.

Don't know anything about this incident but we had a wheel or two lock up on us after clearing a runway once. It cleared itself after 10 minutes on the phone with mx. Typical.

Parking brake.....

I never set the brake in position and hold...... A few yrs back, I recall someone doing this and the "T" part of the handle came right off in their hand. They of course had no way to release the brake, because there in now nothing to twist with..... Predictably, it takes a long time for mx to come out-runway was closed the whole time.

It was a Mesa 900. The newschopperchick said that they declared an "alert 2" before landing....whatever the hell that is.

The aircraft never left the runway and was being towed to the gate when they showed it live on the news. If I remember correctly it was just a brake problem.

The Mesa pilots involved refused to take off because they realized their CR9 couldn't make it to China nonstop from PHX - depsite what the dispatcher said! JO was pi$$ed...

"alert 2" before landing....whatever the hell that is


This is a code emergency crews (fire,police) use at airports indicating what type of an emergency an aircraft is experiencing.

Alert 1 = Aircraft is experiencing problems. No emergency has been declared.

Alert 2 = Aircraft is experiencing problems and is making an emergency landing. Rescue crews on stanby.

Alert 3 = Aircraft has crashed. Full rescue response.
