I'm considering buying Everything Explained for the Professional Pilot. You know, that book right over....

<------------ here

It's a little pricey, owing I guess to the small publishing house. Anyone own it? Is it worth it? Good, bad, mediocre?

Usually, I just drop the cash or check out a book at the library. But this one is a) pricey and b) not at the library.

Just got it a couple of weeks ago. The information is generally not anything new, but IT'S ALL IN ONE PLACE! That was the selling point for me. It's crammed with info (private thru 121/135) in an easily accessible format. Good for a concise review of stuff you may have learned and forgetten.

Yeah, its a good book. I used it to review stuff for my instrument and commercial checkrides. Maybe I can use it for interview prep in the future. You will find that alot of information is reiterated throughout the book. Every other line is underlined or in bold type. The author has a pretty good sense of humor, sometimes it does get annoying. Would I buy it again?? Yes

Richie was my CP for a short time---he's an interesting guy to have to deal with personally, but he knows his stuff and the book is very helpful. He does get a little carried away with all the different fonts, bolds, underlines, etc for my taste, but maybe I'm just jealous---he gave copies to the owners and let everyone else pay full price! BTW, he self-publishes and gets up every morning at 4 AM to send out incoming orders, so I gotta say that he IS very committed to getting the info out there...to people willing to pay the $$$!

Not trying to undercut the author since I'm sure he's already got his $$ from these folks, but some flight school is selling them for $49 + $2 shipping on ebay.

Thanks all. I've been trying to find a used copy somewhere, but guess I'll spend the money for a new one.

I got mine from Marv Golden for $53 + shipping.

I bought it and highly recommend it. There were a few things in this book that I had a very difficult time finding anywhere else and would not have found if I hadn't looked at the sources listed in this book. This book is extremely worth it if you plan on interviewing anywhere that does a technical interview. I read it cover-to-cover and learned a ton. If you can find it cheaper buy it, but I feel the price is worth it even if you pay the full price listed.

PM me if you still have doubts and want to ask me questions before buying, but I honestly feel you cannot go wrong buying it.
