Howdy everyone,
Was thinking about this one the other day....Not to agree with all those pilot shortage ads and campaigns and 'the airlines will need 11,000 new pilots...' yada yada...I understand there are a lot of people out of work right now and the industry is down in the pipes. But, and correct me if I'm wrong, assuming the industry makes at least some improvement won't there be a (I don't want to use the word 'need', but I'm at a loss for words) "need" for pilots because of the forced retirement from the baby boomer generation. I know there are plenty of younger pilots now, but the baby boomer generation is a lot. And don't get me wrong I this doesn't just apply to aviation...this is all professions. Don't know if there will be enough from my generation to fill the gaps so to speak in all these professions...I guess I'm rambling....just wondering if anyone has any in sights...
