I wonder if any of you guys could help me out....My father is retiring from a 35 year airline career and is applying for a 91 job....problem is that he has never made a resume. I wonder if anyone can send me a sample resume form for someone with that kind of experience. Thanks.

no offense here but...

tell him to enjoy retirement and his pension and leave the Pt91 flying jobs to guys who NEED a job!:(

No offense here but...

Keep it to yourself G200. Are you telling me that, if your company forces you to retire against your will, you aren't going to go look for another job so that you can keep flying? If the man wants to fly, more power to him. I hope when I am 60 I still have something to get excited about.

Nothing personal G200, just look at it from both perspectives.

Keep it to myself?
dont think so...

Lucky enough to have a 35 year airline career and now wants to come back and "fly for fun" while THOUSANDS of 30 yr old guys are on the street, furloughed, trying to scrape by and pay the bills!!! thats bull$hit. Too many of these "herpes" cases (never go away) take jobs for 35K/yr etc...just because they cant let go of flying....its pathetic.

Now, I do admit, I DO NOT know his personal case...maybe he is broke, 4 marraiges, etc...whatever...and NEEDS to work..but still..

maybe "pops" needs to take up some hobbies and get a life after flying.

People dont hire these guys because of thier "experience"..they hire them beacuse they are CHEAP.

My company has no age 60 rule, but I have not seen at guy work more than a year or so after that...they say every once ina while they miss it, but just a little..they have hobbies, grandkids, friends, etc...in other words..A LIFE

And I hope for you, that at age 60, you have something to get excited about aside from airplanes...

too many guys out of work there brother, this is unacceptable.

he probably is afraid of hanging out at home with his wife.

scared? no. bored? maybe.

Like I said, I hope when I am 60 I still have something to get excited about.

;)

Job's in a Boeing...looking for time in type and international experience. Not stealing any 35k/year work from anyone. Didn't realize the bad attitude I was going to get, thought you guys would help out. Heed your own advice..."dont analyze it, just fly it"

hey C150, I feel bad for u man... ur right though... after all, that's what these forums are for.... and it's not normally as cut, dry and rude.... just think of G200s response as one opinion of many....

you're only asking for a resume sample.. good lord!

btw, I'd help you but I don't have 35 years of flying experience with a major airline... you may want to post the message under the "major" forum... I'll send you my resume anyway.... who knows.. maybe you can forward it to someone who's looking for a pilot... good luck.

Unemployed

exactly, all I gave was an opinioin. nothing more....

congrats to your dad on a long career in this business and good luck to him.

I'll send you a copy of my resume on one condition:

If he copies it and gets a good job, he has to get me one too. Tell him good luck. If you want, go to www.findapilot.com and click the view resumes link. There are many there to look at.
