There are pilots that can't spell ridiculous or use words like 'their' and 'they're' properly, never mind the 'to', 'too' and 'your', 'you're' conundrum. My advice, use everything you can to make yourself look professional. Irrespective of what those on this board will have you believe, this is a multi-million dollar career...eventually, anything that gets you hired even a day sooner is that much more you will earn on the back-end. If you look at it strictly as an investment, it's still a smart option.

Good point Data. As for the shortage coming up. Too many mainline retirements and too few regional pilots. The numbers don't add up. Even with the dwindling number of military folks, there won't be enough pilots. The Air Force is turning into the "chair force", as UAV's become more prevalent.

In short, if you can fog a mirror in a few years, you will get the job of your choosing.

Regional sure but not at the major level.

And there's a reason why the number for commercial pilots has gone down, because word is out. Flying for money sucks it's not what it used to be or will ever be, especially at the airlines.
