Seems like everywhere I look - someone is just barely getting under the FAA's nose..

Is there anywhere in the SE that is a decent place to work?

Um, no. ..and it only gets scarier the closer you get to Miami. The FAA does not have the resources, nor the personel to go after everyone. The places that actually do follow the rules pay next to nothing wages like the crooks, only they give you a taxable paycheck whereas the shady ones pay you daily, in cash under the table. Those who have been there are smirking as they read this...

Hmm.. well alright. :)

Geez. This is in the corporate forum, right?

What about:
Coca Cola
Home Depot
Krispy Kreme
Waffle House
ChikFilA

Aren't those 5 of among the best flight departments in the country? All based in the SE?

ChickFilA just bought their first jet like a year or so ago..and if you really want to open the can of worms on Coke.....

Yeh, but how do you go about TRYING to get on with a place like that?

But I hear the crew food onthe Chik-Fil-A jet is always the same -- fied chicken sandwich & waffle fries.

Just kiddin' == but remember EAT MOR CHIKIN

Fly safe.

That's up to you. The thread title wasn't 'Reputable Operations in the Southeast that will hire anyone who submits a resume' :)

I go down to PDK a lot and have been impressed with what I have seen of the Epps Aviation operation/crew. Lots of PC-12s, King Airs, Lears, Citations...looks like a pretty good place to work to me but I don't really know.

Krispy Kreme sold a Falcon not too long ago, dont know if they still have anything, but I've heard negative things about the department over the years.

In SC you have BMW North America, Milliken...
In NC you have Bank of America, Lowes, Coca Cola Bottling Consolidated, Wachovia, Family Dollar, Duke Energy, Progress Energy, Carquest, Food Lion, BB&T RJReynolds, SAS, VF Corp...

These are just a few of the good operators in NC/SC. As someone mentioned earlier though, jobs openings at these are few and far between.

Yeah. There is not a single good job in the Southeast. Besides, why would you want to live hear? We are all just a bunch of crooked, cousin loving, red necks, right?

All they have left is one Lear 60. The company as a whole is not doing well because of the low carb diet stuff.

Want some donuts? mmmmmmmmmmmm donuts!

Hahaha.. Only in Auburn.. :)

Roll Tidddeee baby.. :)

The trick is knowing the difference between a "Corporate Flight Department" and a "Shelter for Battered Pilots".

Yeh, I could live in Auburn, I hear after you've lived there for a while, you get used to that smell... :D

Well if you're interested in the Auburn area I think Aflac have a Falcon at CSG.

And about a month ago they happened to be in the hiring mode for about the 12th time in the last year. They seem to go through quite a few people there.

You might wanna leave Krispy Kreme and RJ Reynolds off those two lists. :(

And yes ... there are still many very good corporate jobs around the SE, often at smaller places you've never heard of. I hear about them all the time, but just don't have the TT to make the leap. :( x 1,000

You said it man! Roll Tide.

FedEx is a good flying job in the SouthEast.

Last I heard, Books-A-Million was looking for a Lear pilot. they seem to want someone that is already typed though.

Books-a-Million: 1 LR-35 based out of BHM. They actually offered me a job about a year and a half ago, but I wasn't looking at the time. It was for F/O on the LR-35. Seems like they fly a LOT, but you're home almost every night. 3 pilots for the 1 airplane, lots of day trips, and the guy that I talked to told me 400-500 hours of flying a year. He said it's not a job that you want if you 'like sitting at home all the time'. Hell, that's the whole reason I became a pilot. :) But it seemed at least like a decent department to work for, decent pay and bennies, you'll just be working a lot. I think they've had a problem with typing guys and then leaving, though, that's why they're looking for someone already typed.
